Hi everyone.

I know the JK inverter BMS is new, and they seem to list SMA as one of the inverter vendors they support.

Has anyone tried this out?
Is SMA even listed in the inverter protocols page?

thanks!

I have almost finished all the wiring involved and will be turning on my sunny islands with five of these bms's attached. There is no "sma" protocol to choose from in the bms settings, so I'm really unsure of how it works. I assume I choose a different protocol, like goodwe or victron and it will also be compatible for sma inverter comms. It is difficult finding any information but I will let you know. I think I just have to experiment with the protocol selections and see which one gives the most/correct info back to the inverter.

Did you test the Sunny Islands with the JK BMS? Do you have the latest firmware on the JK BMS?

It works, firmware 15.17 on JK BMS

Note the JK has the wrong pinout for Canbus, Can_L is Can_H and Can_H is Can_L.

The following work with my Sunny Island SI5048 in Lithium mode

Deye
Pylontech
Goodwe
FSS which is the SMA Canbus V1.0 for SI6.0H-11

The FSS seems to marginally work the best so far, it has hi definition SOC to 0.1V instead of 1V.

There seems to be a bug on SMA's where it knocks 1V off the BMS target voltage, so I set my JK to 56.2V to get the SMA to go for 55.2V, BMS set float voltage works too with the same bug.

Note this bug seems to be on 50htz but not 60htz SMA settings.
