I've been using some of these for the past 2 years in my RV. I have 4 that are wired for 24v. The only downsides I've run across is that they are heavy and they do sag voltage under load like a lead acid battery. It hasn't been an issue for me though since I step the 24v down to 12v to run the...
My thoughts were the same as yours. I was going to go with LFP originally. These are about the same price as the cheaper LFPs. I really like the idea of no BMS to deal with as well as the wide range of operation. Overall, they seem to be very forgiving batteries.
Supposedly, these can be discharged completely with no memory effect as long as you charge them back up immediately. Does it lower the overall lifetime? Probably some.
Other than weight, I don't have any complaints. They seem to perform as advertised. I have not fully discharged them yet, but I have taken them down to 10% SOC a couple of times. They bounce right back and readily accept as much charge as my system is capable of feeding them (about .5C is as...
You might be referring to silicate salt batteries. Watts247.com has them. I bought 4 150ah ones from them a few months ago. They are working very well.
I put 4 of the 150AH Bolt Ultra batteries in my 5th wheel recently as part of a solar upgrade. I'm no battery testing expert, but I'm willing to answer any questions that I can.
