    Inverter Bypass switch using generator

I have an Inverter AC Output breaker/switch and an Inverter AC Bypass switch. I need a tiny bit of power to my home and I need to charge my batteries because the sun hasn't been shining for days, do I keep it on Inverter AC Output? I just did it this way and fully charged my batteries. If I...

    Inverter Bypass switch using generator

Is it better to use the inverter bypass switch when trying to charge my batteries, and power my home with my generator? Is there any advantage?

    Help to choose Breaker Panel

Thank you. Because you said," The siemens panel will be fine for this." I looked at it again. I see now that it does indeed have two "legs" and I totally understand how to hook this up. L1 to Line A, and L2 to Line B, and then the neutral and the ground. sigh I think I just needed someone else...

    Help to choose Breaker Panel

I have a Magnum all in one with the Mini Magnum Panel (MMP) 250-30D, and am trying to comb through all the terminology (main, lug, loadcentre, sub, leg, phase...) to purchase a panel so I can bring power from the MMP to two 120v 30 amp RV shore plugs plus a few 15 or 20 amp circuits. I bought a...

Mini Magnum Panel 4400 to Main? or Sub?

I am having trouble purchasing a main or subpanel, main breaker, lug. What do I need? I have a Magnum PAE inverter/charger with Midnite Classic 150 MPPT charge controller. I have my Disco combiner hooked up and ready to plug in my pv panels, and I am 90% sure where they hook in to the Mini...

    Cheapest ground mounting solution?

This looks great! If the wood starts to rot away, it is easy and cheap to replace.

14.4KWH !! What does it all mean?

We are perfectly happy with what we are using in our two joined trailers at the moment, we use very little power during the day because we are trying to keep the gasoline generator use to nighttime. This has been a wonderful thing, because it forces us off our the chairs and out into the fresh...

14.4KWH !! What does it all mean?

Okay... so if face any direction southward, and adjust angle for optimum... Dec: 2.8 x 2.3 = 6.4 kWh per day - I guess the 14.4 is the optimum from the store's location. I get 15.4 being farther south. And this is the max that I can hope to get out of this system. Hmmm... So if I double the...

14.4KWH !! What does it all mean?

Grrr! Just when I think I understand what they are trying to sell me.... So 480 watt panels x6 is 2880 watts (2.8 kW ) Where do they get the 14.4kWh max production number?

14.4KWH !! What does it all mean?

Thank you everyone! This forum rocks!! I think I am finally understanding what this all means. Yeah! One other thing - What kind of service to my household panel do I get? What I mean by that is that in my current home I have 200 amp service from the power company, in an older house I lived in...

14.4KWH !! What does it all mean?

So, it's starting to sound like the 14.4 kwh system with the LiFePo4 batteries should run our whole household needs once we build our log home, (heating with wood) no problem. ? So at $20,000 CAD, that's looking like a mighty fine future, that I won't have to continually through money at until...

14.4KWH !! What does it all mean?

Ah. I had no idea there were different charge times. That's good to know. Thanks for your opinion, I think I will double the PV. That will save me an extra $0.05/ watt at $0.70 /watt Canadian, and who doesn't like a deal? ? Now, does that mean that I will probably have to upgrade all the in...

14.4KWH !! What does it all mean?

Is it okay to add LFP batteries. I read somewhere that once you get the batteries, you can't add more or change any out because the batteries would perform at the level of your worst batteries. ? Or maybe I misunderstood.

14.4KWH !! What does it all mean?

Thanks for the advice. We do have generators, so we're used to being set up for emergencies. I am now thinking it might be better to spend the extra $3700 that the lithium batteries would cost (over and above the cost of the lead acid) and get double the amount of lead acid. Would I need another...
