I'm hoping to move forward on replacing my 4 dead 12V AGM sealed lead acid batteries. I have found some in the Solar Products area on this web site but I'm not sure if I can switch out my current batteries with LiFePO4 ones. My system is small, 900W of solar panels, 4 @ 12V 100AH batteries...
I want to replace my 12V AGM lead Acid batteries and am not sure of sources. Is there a list of sources in this forum somewhere? I'm thinking I'll just stay with what I've got instead of switching to LiFePO. Too complicated for me.
Thanks for your suggestion but I already bought the 24V inverter about a year ago so no option for 48V. My question then is still what kind of batteries will work on my small system. I can call SunGold or some other vendor but was hoping to get some ideas from this forum.
I built a small 600W system using Will Prouse' website 5 years ago for my off-grid cabin. I used 4 100AH AGM lead acid batteries that now need replacing. I'm thinking about 4 LiFePO batteries. I'm a novice and am not sure that is a good idea. My 5 year old MPPT charge controller has a 1030W...
Good to know more about the power saver. I did turn on one light when I first tried to turn on the inverter and nothing happened. That made me wonder whether the the power saver suggestion had much potential to solve the problem. But, your suggestion gives me some hope. Thanks!
Good suggestion. Thanks. I've learned from watching a video of this inverter that "AC input: Abnormal" simply reflects the lack of grid or generator AC input neither of which I have so that error is irrelevant to my system. I haven't managed to get the inverter to power up yet but I took a...
I switched out my Giandel PureSineWave Inverter (2000W/4000W surge/24V) for the SunGold one at my small off grid cabin.
Here are the other components in my solar setup:
900W from 9 100W solar panels
Epever 24V Charge controller (max 1040W at 24V)
4 @ 12V -100 amp sealed lead acid batteries...
Thanks. That's so easy. I'll order some. There is a place to select "Lot number" from 1-100. I have no idea what this means. I will send an email to them but if you know please let me know. I'm thinking I just need one on the positive line of each string, correct?
OK, 10A fuse on each string (all are 5A) that can handle 60V before connecting to MC4-3 to 1 connector. Would I just put an in-line fuse on the positive wire or both? Are there MC4 connectors that have fuses in them? That would be the easiest I think but I"ll google in-line fuses. I'm using...
I currently have the wire from the panels attached to a 15A breaker before it goes into the CC. I'm not sure where and what size fuse to put on each string. Would you mind giving me details or a photo of that. Might have to live with a voltage drop because pulling new wires in my underground...
Thanks for replying so quickly Maddy. I do indeed have a 24V system so it looks like I will be okay adding 300W of panels. Good to know that if I add another group of panels that I'll need to get another CC. My panels are about 40 ft. from my CC and I'm using a 10ga. wire to connect the two...
I have 600W of solar (2 strings of 3 panels each (100W, 5.7A, 18V) in series connected in parallel = 10amp&54V)) going into my 40A Epever MPPT CC. I want to add 3 more 100W panels for 900W total (3S3P=a total of 9 panels, 3 panels connected in series X3 and those 3 connected in parallel to each...
