Just a followup - in case anyone needs to see if it can work for them.
Added bus bars and LiTime (from amazon) balancers - pulling 30 amps from the bank for over an hr (which was the test case previously)- the SOC never went below 82.
I consider that victory!
I had a similar problem on an off grid system. I simply plugged in a simple outlet tester (10$ or so at the big box stores) and it 'bleeds' enough to allow things to work as expected with a non grid bonded system. YMMV. My electrician did the 'huh' when I told him it worked...
I had read the advice to charge and balance prior to mounting them (or placing in service) as well, In addition to doing it every 6 months or so.
Im only a couple months in - so i was surprised that the consumption of only 5kw sent them into that state.
I'm using them in a 48v config. 2 48v strings in parallel to get 48v@ 200Ah - on a eg4 6k.
So I was thinking being Li I could push them down to 30% or so safely. Got to about 50% and 1 in each string went into over discharge.
(I did get them to recover).
So bus bars and balancers are in my...
I was worried about this too - but figured it out.
I have an offgrid EG4 6k [with 3.6kw PV and LI 200aH batteries) to a Tesla mobile charger (NEMA 6-50) - and it faulted with 2 flashes - even with internal bonding.
Add a simple light bulb string light to an outlet with a circuit checker...
