Good videos nipsip. A portable solution for air cooling is something I'm going to seriously look at.
At a 2019 camp-out the inside of my 4m bell tent reached 40C (104F) at the apex (hot enough that any insects flying into the hot zone fell out of the air dead) and whilst I had my suitcase...
Alternative title 'Boondocker washes grundies in twintub'
My only reservation with the demonstration was the open disposal of the greywater. Certainly in the UK legislation exists on greywater disposal for prevention of pollution to aquifers and water courses, which is why all greywater...
So where do ultrasonic thumper deterrents feature in the effectiveness list?
Personally, after one or more got a taste for stripping insulation from my cabling and on coming home one day to that perculiarly recognisable smell of rodent ECT and electrical shorting, I found one ultrasonic per...
In lieu of anyone stepping in with some number crunching, I did a bit more digging myself into this topic, because we're all about the solar right guys and energy is energy.
Objective
My focus was on water heating and application for space heating and efficiency / cost for solar PV versus...
That would be some interesting math to calculate the precise shape. Subsequent 3D printing of the model and reflective foil vacuum-forming would be easy by comparison.
One of the cost factors to take into account with any solar installation involves cabling between the panels and either where the power is to be used and/or the battery storage bank.
My question for the forum, could long cable runs be substituted by using mirrors to focus sunlight on to a...
Does anyone have the energy comparisons between heating water using photovoltaic source to power a water heater (on demand) and solar thermal to heat water direct in the panel and using some form of high volume storage to extract using a heat exchanger?
Which is the more efficient and which...
Will's video on an automatic transfer switch ... many thanks johnzilla(y) for the post because I must have missed this video and a product which can grid charge dependent on battery voltage status to top-off the solar, is just the thing I've been looking for.
?IDEA! For active solar tracking, the solution to the single stress points of a pole mount would be to centre the entire array on a turntable or raised circular rail.
Interesting topic and so many videos to be found searching using 'atmospheric water condenser' or 'air well' including commercial products.
Zero Mass
Then there are technologies that use no power at all ...
Warka Water Towers
But I'm guessing you will be looking at solar to power a colder...
An interesting if slightly less safe application of alternative energy, which until mainstream adoption has always been realm of the Prepper. However, what these videos demonstrate could be considered post-societal breakdown survivalist skills ... take one drain pipe ...
Just one question...
1500 bucks!!!! All the sensors do is interupt the power to the pump, turning it off.
Float switches are cheap as chips. Coupled with a solar panel, charge controller, battery and a good pond pump, I bet similar could be cobbled together for much less.
