I agree that's what I think of when I see darker copper. @12VoltInstalls may be right that it's the rubber jacket of the windynation wire that is breathable and allowing the oxidation.
I'm not gonna be using these wires anymore so I won't bother wire brushing them and making a mess of copper dust.
Oh I use the lightbulb to drain + and - on the battery terminals. I don't think my inverter would let anything out the AC side when it's off. But I've never tried.
Pools are another one that creates second earthing points.
Don't worry about it, just make one intentional grounding point. The electrons will respect the intentionality and go there.
Good catch! I missed that. Not even a tariff increase for us now. Unless our cells get automatically considered EV batteries or something. I could see that being true where they mean like power tool batteries get the tariff in 2026 but big Lifepo4 cells are already considered an "EV type" battery.
