    Need recommendations on microhydro generator

The 1000ft of 2" is the killer, I'd expect to max out around 100gpm at 175psi or so, probably somewhere around 2kw generator, so 48kwh/day which is still A LOT. https://hipowerhydro.com (not mine, not affiliated, but have done business with before) should be able to help you out. Good luck!

Connecting/charging low SOC lifepo4 battery and high SOC bank?

I appreciate your reply -- but surely there has to be a way to do this short of burning off a few hundred amp hours in my bank before connecting them? I could manually switch my charging sources from one bank to the other battery but looking for a more streamlined solution if possible...

Connecting/charging low SOC lifepo4 battery and high SOC bank?

I'm probably just not wording this correctly, but here's my use case: Existing 48v 200ah lifepo4 battery bank (2p16s fortune 100ah cells, overkill solar bms), charged with hydro and solar. We stay between 80-100% soc typically thanks to the hydro. I want to add another 48v 100ah (16s) battery...

TS45 / Diversion load / Low temp cutoff

Finally got a chance to test this: Batteries in low temp charge cutoff, hydro voltage rises until diversion controller diverts. All good!

Victron VenusOS driver for serial connected BMS - JBD / Daly / ANT / JKBMS / Heltec / Renogy / Tian / ECS

Gotcha -- I wasn't sure if there was maybe a value that would show it on the VRM Dashboard like here (not my system, a screenshot I found online but it seems as though this is an existing feature/value of VRM)

Victron VenusOS driver for serial connected BMS - JBD / Daly / ANT / JKBMS / Heltec / Renogy / Tian / ECS

Is there any way to get the time-to-go (TTG) to show up in the battery card on VRM?

    48V Inverter for Off grid

So Victron is out... Kind've hard to believe as I'm pretty sure they sell a lot of inverters for 24/7 use. FWIW the Samlex weighs in the same as a Victron Quattro (66lbs)...

    48V Inverter for Off grid

The Outback runs 3-4 times the cost of the Samlex -- so I'd hope that it had some features that made it that much more valuable... A bit like comparing a Corolla to an S-Class Mercedes... The Samlex is a good call, I'd also look at Victron Multiplus or Quattro if you can get by with single...

Screw terminals vs crimped rings and studs?

Doing a little more digging, it looks like the UL listing on the DIN terminal blocks may not cover fine strand wire typically used in PV/DC From (https://lugsdirect.com/GuideToFlexFlexibleFineStrandedWireCableMechanicalLugsFAQ.html) So it sounds like unless you're using THHN or other...

Screw terminals vs crimped rings and studs?

Hey Bob -- thanks for the reply. Solid wire is more common, but stranded is allowed and used all over the place (THHN/THWN), and the highest amperage connections back to the pole / transformer are also stranded and secured by screw terminal. The DIN rails appear to be appropriately rated...

Screw terminals vs crimped rings and studs?

Trying to decide if I want to continue with ring terminals on everything, or move some stuff over to din rails and terminal blocks (ul listed, 600v, etc)... What says everyone? Everything in your house wiring is screw terminals, and it saves an expensive ring crimper and/or doubts about...

TS45 / Diversion load / Low temp cutoff

Howdy all, Not sure if this is the right place, but the hydro forum is pretty dead. Basically setting up hydro on an existing offgrid system that occasionally triggers low-temp charging cutoff on the lifepo4 bank and wondering what will happen to the Morningstar TS45 diversion load in that...

Victron VenusOS driver for serial connected BMS - JBD / Daly / ANT / JKBMS / Heltec / Renogy / Tian / ECS

@Louisvdw thanks for all your work on this -- is the dual battery (multiple bms) on the roadmap yet? How much funding would be required to get that pushed across the finish line? Cheers

    Main Battery disconnect Switch

Was about to post this very same question. What is everyone using to disconnect 48v batteries / packs / banks? Most of the marine stuff is rated to 48VDC, but not the 56VDC+ you'd see. (Blue Seas, etc)
