I have about the largest system that you would ever want to build in a 24v system. I have 4 Magnum ms4024 PAE stacked,
for a 16kw system with 122kwh battery and 29kw array. Ac coupled by transfer switch to either a 5k SMA OR 7.7 SMA that are
normally grid tied unless I need the extra power on...
If you follow Ben as I do your worried more about EMP or coronal mass I'm guessing. Do a search on EMP. Best thing to do is have a back up
in a faraday cage.
I have a very large bank 4800AH, with 4 inverters. That is kind of why I like to balance to 29v at least once a month. My battery's will cycle from 100 to 85% most days but once or twice a month I let them go down to 35%. 30 min absorb has just worked, so have not increased.
We run 2 freeze driers also, we get a 1 for 1 credit from are power company so I installed an electric furnace, it's backed up to my gas furnace using same central heating ducked. We have enough credit thru summer to run all winter in Idaho with some credit left.
I have been a Magnum guy forever. I had 4 old inverters running and wanted back up's, being unsure about the (new) Mexico version,
I pulled two old down and install the new to run under warranty in case of problems,
I have just under 29kw of panels. A portion of this is to a 7.7kw and 5kw SMA over paneled grid tied inverters selling back, each on a transfer switch.
That way if it is overcast or bad weather I can ac couple one or both inverters alongside my three cc to make up what needed to fill my 120kwh...
I have the same system.
Low battery cut out 24v
Absorb30 min
Custom absorb 28v float 27v EQ 28v
Max charge I change as needed. 100 works
Final charge silent rebulk 26.6
I will take battery's to 29v every 15 to 30 days to balance.
