The following project shows the integration between PV, BESS, and generator in a microgrid. I would like to know these 3 inverters are enough for control the whole system? Why there isn't any inverter for battery and generator? What is PCS and STS? We don't have any converters in this system?

So you are talking about this kind of inverter. Right? Assume we have diesel generator for back up during outage. How can we control voltage and frequency or power of microgrid?

But they can not flow the power and manage the whole energy in micro-grid. So I guess, besides the inverters (battery/PV inverters), we need centralized controller to control and manage the energy in micro-grid.

Thanks. But beside the inverters, we need to have separate controller (energy management system) to control and manage the power flow. Like the following picture.

If the main grid is outage, what's your suggestion about control strategy to maintain stable voltage and frequency?
