Feedback wanted on a proposed large residential system

One thing to remember with fusing is not only correct sizing to suit the cable but the fuse/circuit breaker ultimate breaking capacity. That is at what point (ie amount of amps) does the fuse or CB simply get destroyed and become of no value in protection. I'm guessing with the house fire a...

Feedback wanted on a proposed large residential system

G'day all I'm hoping to get some feedback on a large system that I'm currently planning for. I've included a rough schematic of the system - so basically it's 4 arrays of 6kw solar incoming (total 24kw). Batteries will probably be REPT or EVE 280 in a 4p17s config - total of 62kw. Battery...

Multiple battery strings with Batrium cellmate K9

Any value in fusing each cell? - not 200 of them but 5 in my case.

Multiple battery strings with Batrium cellmate K9

Wow, 200 in parallel. Do you have any way to monitor each cell? I'm planning on a 5p 48 volt bank and concerned about being able to see what each cell is up to, rather than just the total sum. Thanks

    one very cool battery box...

Consistently around 35-40%. Interesting when the motor kicks in and the air temp drops so does the humidity by about 5% so it must be condensing on the walls slightly but quickly reabsorbs into the air. 40% is about ideal for a server room so happy with that. The freezer itself is consuming...

Only using inverter function in an all in 1 unit

Excellent - I was hoping it wouldn't be a problem.

Only using inverter function in an all in 1 unit

Is it possible to use just the inverter function of an all in one unit - something like the Growatt SPF 5000/6000 units? I have one now and happy with the inverter function but the mppt charge functions are limited. Is it possible to use say the Victron Smart Solar MPPTs for charging and just...

    one very cool battery box...

I'll probably do the same to make it all a better fit. I'm also planning on a small dehumidifier inside, that will turn on and off as the freezer cycles on and off (probably only a few times a day to maintain 20-24 degrees).

Puts a new meaning on the term hybrid freezer...lifepo4 on the bottom, carcass on the top...

here's a snap of the inside - still an ongoing task as need to tidy up wires/connections, build a hanger for the BMS and a perspex cover over the pack- too easy to drop something onto the cells from above.

Problem - heat. Solution - freezer. Actually it's a new hybrid chest freezer which doubles as a fridge - and highly efficient at that, due to the high value insulation. I've added a separate thermostat to keep it at approx 22c rather than 4 (too cold) or the often 40+ C in the shed where this...
