Hello
Thanks for the reply but you have introduced a whole new language and information that I don't understand.
I have selected a 250w solar panel as this would fit on my garden shed, so, in some respects it is the tail wagging the dog.
Are you suggesting that I connect the inverter and the...
Hello
I am an absolute newbie to solar energy.
I am using lead acid batteries which I understand should not be run on less than 50 percent of charge to avoid damage to the batteries.
I am setting up a solar powered system remotely and will probably visit around once per week.

Hello
I am looking to install a Victron Smart Shunt.
The device only sends data by Bluetooth.
The rig will be at my allotment over one hour drive away so I would prefer remote monitoring.
I will have a WiFi router at my solar set up, and I am scratching my head to see if there is any way I...
Hello
To keep the wiring tidy I am thinking of connecting the Raspberry PI 3 direct to the controller at 12v.
Just wondering if anyone has done this ?
I will be looking to have a cooling fan as well.
I am looking to buy the Victron 100/50 Phoenix controller
Hello - Thanks for the reply but to register on the Victron site I think I need the serial number of the cerbo device which I don't have as I have the Raspberry pi ?
Am I missing something here or registering on the wrong site ? I tried using the Victron VRM ?
Any guidance would be much...

Hi Mike
My target is to run grwo lights possibly for a few hours a day, with a power requirement of about 600w.
I have a 250w mono solar panel which is about my max given the size of the shed roof.
I have bought a renogy 20a control panel
I have bought a 12v, 115ah leaded battery. Maybve...
Hi - Much appreciate the advice and I am very much interested in a programmable inverter. I am currently looking at the Koolertron - this seems nice kit but I would appreciate any ideas ?

Hi
I am looking to set up a small system for my greenhouse. Not sure yet of future use, but power options would be useful.
In theory it sounds simple to simply connect the control panel and inverter to the battery.
However, I am not sure of the clean way of doing this and have some safety...
Thanks for taking the time to provide a thorough overview of my proposed set up !
I am conscious of cost but have seen this on eBay ?https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/186230151882?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=qnsiv9HHQFy&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=NxzFxgmVQQy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I have recently bought the Koolertron Battery Monitor.
I bought this as it provides a function to have auto cut off by voltage so I can cut power to the inverter when battery levels fall be low 50 percent.
My inverter, Renogy 1000w auto cuts off when voltage goes less than 10v, but from...
Hello, Many thanks for taking the time to reply and sharing with me your pearls of wisdom.
I also have increased the size of the inline circuit breaker to be 150a.
Assuming your suggestions are introduced, does everything else look fine. As you can guess I am an absolute beginner with no...

Are you using your raspberry on a local or remote network?
I can access the Venus OS on a local network easily without registration, but, the solar build will be on a remote / different network and I don't know how to access it remotely (from 50km)
Thoughts appreciated and thanks for the response!
When I try to set up my VRM account, it requires me to provide the serial number of the Victron Venus device which I don't have as I am using a raspberry instead.
First, thanks for taking the time to reply and you have more than made me think.
The set up is for my greenhouse and I am not sure yet of load requirements but thinking of grow lights and a fan for hot weather.
I would appreciate any suggestions of alternative inverters that can be programmed...
Hi Guys - Thanks for your valuable input, appreciated!
For clarity, the solar build of all Victron devices except the raspberry pi will be installed in my garden shed at my allotment 50 + Km away.

Hello
I am building a set up to power grow lights at my allotment in my greenhouse. If anybody can give it a once over I would be very grateful. I have watched a lot of youtube videos and a lot of googling, but, I am a beginner and any advice would be appreciated indeed.
