By using a manual battery switch. Can you use the old bank with the new bank by using the 1&2 position. Or, will this ruin the new bank?

I have 2 sets of panels. Rookie mistake Harbor Freight's, and then 4 Renogy 100's. I never charge at the same time, but here lately, I've been using both banks to run TV and Satellite box at night. Both banks are 5 years old. Not to concerned as of now, but if I pick up a new bank I don't want...
