While I agree it's a cheap switch. It is a high current disconnect. Can you please explain why it is not suitable to be used under load? In my current form it is also used to break current from my gen set control (not pictured)

Ok, I totally understand that but I don't think I'll ever have the occasion to turn off the inverter while it's under a load. Also like I said it powers up my other electronics nothing of high amperage. I have no illusions of it's quality.. but it works for now!:)

Cool setup, I'm not one to judge I often do things half ass or thrown together just to make sure it works. Whose BMS would you go with ? If you wanted to keep it simple?

I'm not sure .. most likely standard . I haven't even tore the cells out yet. I'm just going by other tear downs I've seen and from the top view they look like the same 3.7 5ah cells. I don't remember the count poss 80 in all.

If the chemistry was for Lithium batteries would that change things?

Well. As stated in my original post the pack is 7.6 k and is plated as such on the covers . And I'm not stuck going this route just putting out feelers as to what's possible. I may just part the cells out in the end.

I've been looking for information on this , I've bought an EG4 inverter and looking for a 48volt 14s BMS that will "talk" to it. Open to suggestions. Or is this even necessary? Giving that you can enter I guess battery specs. Noob here be gentle I bruise easily.

Anyone know what size Cmax cell nut size is? It looks a spline but my 7 or 8 mm spline sockets do not fit. I had an 8 hex fit for a few but it's taken a toll on it

We never have had that happen here because a lot of the utilities are under ground . For me it's educational and fun .. wish there was a Sunday show and shine cruise in for the solar nerds!
