...... I'm looking for the info on a bms, I won't lie I get lost in the terms . Can two or more 24 ah battery be out into parallel then series? Putting a monitor from bms on each parallel ,"cell" group? Or point me to a good tutorial. I really appreciate your time.
I'm currently sourcing stuff for a 48volt build . My question is in the case of lead acid batteries, if you jumper off the "12volt point " in a 48 v series of connected batteries can you use that to power 12 volt devices ? Can you use a 12volt alternator to charge ? I'm guessing you would need...
I have a soft spot for self deprecation. Thing I love about learning in this field is that if ya can't laugh at your own mistakes ya aren't spending enough!
I'm never satisfied with what I've learned and built.. when I'm broke it might be good enough.
Im just trying to looking for the best bang...
While I agree it's a cheap switch. It is a high current disconnect. Can you please explain why it is not suitable to be used under load?
In my current form it is also used to break current from my gen set control (not pictured)
Ok, I totally understand that but I don't think I'll ever have the occasion to turn off the inverter while it's under a load. Also like I said it powers up my other electronics nothing of high amperage. I have no illusions of it's quality.. but it works for now!:)
Hello all!! In addition to being new here I'm posting a question for anyone who has information or guidance on this . I have a Cmax traction battery compromised of many 3.7volt 5 amp hour cells.
It is 7.6 k total and I'm looking for the best means necessary to get it to 48 volts (I purchased an...
Cool setup, I'm not one to judge I often do things half ass or thrown together just to make sure it works.
Whose BMS would you go with ?
If you wanted to keep it simple?
I'm not sure .. most likely standard .
I haven't even tore the cells out yet.
I'm just going by other tear downs I've seen and from the top view they look like the same 3.7 5ah cells. I don't remember the count poss 80 in all.
Well. As stated in my original post the pack is 7.6 k and is plated as such on the covers .
And I'm not stuck going this route just putting out feelers as to what's possible. I may just part the cells out in the end.
Yes, it's heavy all right! 24 ah cells huh? (I'm still waiting on the right spline socket for teardown to come in) you have 7 of these? I was hoping to get two but the other one got sent back to Ford . I built a small solar trailer ( my avatar) which uses 4 LA batteries and modified sine...
I've been looking for information on this , I've bought an EG4 inverter and looking for a 48volt 14s BMS that will "talk" to it. Open to suggestions. Or is this even necessary? Giving that you can enter I guess battery specs. Noob
here be gentle I bruise easily.
Anyone know what size Cmax cell nut size is? It looks a spline but my 7 or 8 mm spline sockets do not fit. I had an 8 hex fit for a few but it's taken a toll on it
Go figure, my Mac tool spline socket set came in and sadly there is no 7.5.. must reside in Satan's toolbox...
Let me go see if my 5/16 is as worn out as I am...
Thank you! Maybe Will or someone on here will make a forum for all the hard to find/unique tools.. and call it Satan's toolbox.
I looked but then my wife finds my wallet almost daily..
We never have had that happen here because a lot of the utilities are under ground . For me it's educational and fun .. wish there was a Sunday show and shine cruise in for the solar nerds!
Sorry , my description didn't post.
It currently consists of 4 -225 ah Interstate 6 volt batteries wired series parallel. 2 -100 watt solar panels going to I believe 30 amp mppt charge controller. The engine is a harbor freight 212 predator engine (non hemi) I installed electric start on that...
