Curious what percentage of China's emissions/energy use is from them manufacturing and transporting goods for other countries like the US and EU. And how much of the US's CO2 emissions decline is due to a reduction in domestic manufacturing.

I'm seeing "Add Device" on the web monitor now.
  • Post in thread: Senville Aura 24k Heating Results

With that mindset, I think you'll dislike the sound of the indoor unit way before the outdoor unit is a factor. Under lower loads they aren't too noticeable, but under heavy load it's akin to a vacuum but a 1/4 of the volume.
  • Post in thread: Hot water Heat pump, anyone running them in their house?

I have the Rheem 80 gallon. It was only a couple hundred more than the 50 and I wasn't limited on space. House of 4, who are not conservative on hot water. In-laws or my mother tend to visit every month. Temp set to 140 degrees otherwise one of the showers would not have enough flow at a...

Unless the shadows are throwing it, that's ID 62. ID #1 would be switch 1 off, all others on.
  • Post in thread: EG4 18KPV x1 405 watt SEG bifacial 526 watt x 24 pcs. SEG-405-BMD-HV . How to wire PV

I would like to tag along on this one as I am in the planning phase using the same inverter and panels, although 36 panels with 3 strings of 12. Planning on 1 string on the roof, other 2 ground mount, location is south Iowa. Wire sizing for the strings is confusing me even after reading this...
  • Post in thread: Fusible disconnect after meter for Duke/Progress

I haven't seen them at any of the box stores. Amazon, Bussman NON-200. The ones that arrived were white label, made in Mexico, not China like the ad shows.
  • Post in thread: Sealing conduit penetrations

That should work great, thanks for the idea.
  • Post in thread: Anyone received their EG4 PowerPro ESS Bundle yet?

Fortunately the delivery guy was able to get it into the garage. I gently used a pry bar and blocks of wood to give some finger space. Then I took the upper side panels off, gave me a little more handhold to lift upright. Straps and engine host from there. Same for getting it on the wall...
  • Post in thread: Eg4 18kPV Gen input will not charge battery

I gave up on it and bought a chargeverter. The generator didn't like an instantaneous load over 4-5kW so wouldn't be a good choice on the gen terminals anyway. The main reason I even have the PowerPro battery is to run the well pump and furnace in a power outage. Hoping it's the generator and...
  • Post in thread: New solar install 14.6kw/Eg4 18kPV

I am planning a 14.6kw install using 36 SEG Solar 405w bifacial panels with an EG4 18kPV and a single PowerPro battery. The battery is mostly a nicety, we would be on inflow/outflow metering, don't lose power often and have a generator for longer power outages. I have started the 1-line...
  • Post in thread: What is the difference between Off-Grid Mode and Run Without Grid in the android app for the EG4 18Kpv?

The online device monitor, https://monitor.eg4electronics.com , shows Off-Grid Mode is for zero export when you are grid-tied. Run Without Grid is just that, it will supply power to the Load terminals when there is no grid power.
  • Post in thread: Eg4 18kPV Gen input will not charge battery

It's been a bit, but I think I enabled AC Charging to get it to charge when using grid terminals and "micro-grid".
  • Post in thread: EG4 18k panel password?

Page 19 of the manual. Use the online manual, the paper version I received with my 18k was outdated.

  • Post in thread: Why Isn't There a Setting on the EG4 18Kpv to NOT Discharge the Batteries When Grid is up?

I applaud the support provided, but can you provide feedback in the forum on the specific settings used? I see similar replies to those trying to configure the 18kPV for their specific use. It may help others with the same goals without needing to reach out to EG4. Maybe a sticky with common...
  • Post in thread: Ground wire AWG

If I have two strings in the same conduit do I size a single ground wire per string or the combined value of both strings?
  • Post in thread: Eg4 18kPV Gen input will not charge battery

I tried the Grid terminals because I was thinking the same thing. Are the Gen terminals pickier than the Grid terminals? I was eyeing up the chargeverter already, it seems a better way to implement the generator.
  • Post in thread: New solar install 14.6kw/Eg4 18kPV

I only need shutdown, the garage roof should have no shading issues. I can't find anything confirming TIGO is SunSpec. Prices are similar if the TIGO CCA is not needed. No load breakers on the left load center, and no need because I can install them on the right side load center(currently...
  • Post in thread: New solar install 14.6kw/Eg4 18kPV

The EG418kPV would handle the transfer. Would only expect to use the battery for 2 hours during an outage, after that we would be setting up the generator. Would be required to run a well pump and the furnace during the winter.

  • Post in thread: Eg4 18kPV Gen input will not charge battery

I am attempting to charge my Power Pro battery using a generator, but cannot get the Gen input on my 18kPV to send power to the battery. Connecting the gen to the Grid terminals and selecting micro-grid in the menu does work, I ran it up to 100amps charge current and charged from 55% to 72%...
  • Post in thread: Sealing conduit penetrations

What is the best way to seal conduit penetrations between the wall and a wire trough or electrical box, to prevent moisture getting inside the wall/behind siding? The trough will be installed over board and batten siding, meaning a 3/4" gap between the trough and wall and no easy access for putty.
