I started with a similar setup: I have a critical loads panel (always on) and then a "semi-critical loads panel" (and circuits in the house mains are "not critical" loads) I control with a manual knife switch (in my case, the semi-critical loads can energize from grid or from the sunny island...- Reaction score: 1

You may not need load shedding. Not an electrician, but I stayed in a holiday inn last night :) I have a ~12 year old system. 2 sunny boys and an AC coupled sunny island. 10.5kw of PV, 10kw of batteries.
