Background
I've been a full time RV'R since 2015 and became interested in solar power out of necessity so I could boondock without depending on a generator. I had a small solar charging system installed on my first trailer, had issues with that system, upgraded the wiring and battery bank. I also added a monitor and inverter. I had help from a mobile RV tech on all of those upgrades. I now have my second trailer and I'm in the process of outfitting it with a larger solar charging system. I am a rank amateur solar DIY'R and could use some help.
Current or Future Solar Power System
My first trailer was a Nash 23D and it had a factory installed 20 watt Zamp trickle charge panel with Zamp controller. I had 3 x 100 watt Renogy monocrystalline panels with a Schneider C40 PWM controller installed by a solar installer. I added a Bogart Engineering TM-2030 monitor and Samlex PST600 inverter which were installed by a mobile RV tech. My battery bank was originally two Trojan T105's and in 2018 I upgraded to two Crown CR260's which I still have installed on my second trailer. The second trailer is a 2021 Outdoors RV 280 RKS purchased used May 2023. I have been purchased 12 x Renogy 100 watt monocrystalline panels with tilt mounts, 2 Victron Smart Solar 150/60TR controllers, and a Victron Smart Shunt. I'm ready to purchase a Victron MultiPlus 12/3000/120, wiring, fuses, and LiFePO4 batteries so everything can be installed at once. I will need help and guidance to get this done.
