Thanks for the input
The solar breaker can be changed...but to what size?
There is a 60amp fuse in the van supplied by Ford. The dcdc connects to the starter battery at the drivers seat which has the 60 amp fuse on it. The run to the dcdc is about 6.5 feet.
The batteries are in parallel. I...
I see. I have to change it around. It's hard to access now without disassembly of other parts surrounding the electrical set up.
Even if the charger is not connected too the shut would the monitor not still show the amp hours in the battery bank. The monitor is still showing only 75ah.
Going back and looking... I could be off on that 350ah. I've tried using a spreadsheet I found online that supposed to give you the daily ah but honestly I'm not really sure. I really guessed at what I thought it may be...rookie mistake I know. I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around...
I did have the charger on the battery terminals. I can't reach the shunt/buss bar at this time. Soon I'll be back at the shop where I can remove some things and connect the charger positive to the first battery in the bank and connect the negative to the negative buss bar.
I still don't under...
After waiting two weeks for an electrician to show up I have tried to get as far as I can myself. I do not know much about this and just can't wrap my head around it....but I think I'm close. This is going in a van I'm working on. Four 100ah lithiums ,40 amp dcdc charger, 2000w inverter. 100 amp...
Typo. I meant amp hours. My brain is frying over this.
Typo. I meant amp hours. My brain is frying over this. I calculated the fridges run time per day average..8 hrs multiplied by current in amps..from product website..1.7 equals 13.6 8x1.7=13.6
Both fridges are top load. I did get average amp draw from the manufactures website. We will be cooking on a propane burner that is much like a camping stove. No power needed except propane. Webasto heater will be gasoline. 7.5 amps on start up for about 2 mins then on high 2.45a med 1.7a...
I'm getting ready to build a van for travel with solar panels and dc/dc charger. Would be better to get 2 100ah batteries or 1 200ah battery. What is the difference other than the case size size.
I have a 400ah lithium bank...4 100ah batteries connected in parallel. All connections were verified by an electrician. I do not have solar installed yet. I have a renogy 40amp dcdc charger connected to the bank. I have a victron ip67 25amp charger connected as well with a Renogy battery...
I am getting ready to put together my solar in a van. I have 4 100ah batteries each with a bms that I'll wire in parallel. I am lookin at the redarc bcdc1250 and the renogy dc/dc50amp with mppt controller. I believe I can get 400 watts of panels on the roof but may have to go with 300 watts. I...
Yes that is the monitor.
The monitor appeared to be correct showing 400ah and correct voltage upon installation
The shunt is connected at the first battery and the charger is connected at the last battery. I don't know how the chargers could have bypassed the sources...but not sure. I do know...
I really do appreciate all the input. And yes this is an empty van to start with and some things I did guess at because I don't really know how much usage there will be from various items. I do plan on installing a dc/dc charger to supplement when driving. And yes actual drive time is likely...
Would the voltage of the batteries be the same if they are all connected in parallel or if one was bad or low would that cause the entire bank to show a lower voltage.
The renogy monitor shows 14.1v but it shows 75ah for the battery amp hours. So could the monitor or shunt be bad?
Hey guys. I'm new here and I have a solar setup but I plan to reconfigure it soon. I have read this thread and I think I get what I should do but still not sure. I have a Toyota Tacoma with a duel battery set up under the hood. I have the stock battery and a Optima yellow top connected with a...
I see. So maybe once I correct the charger connection to the shut/buss bar for the negative and the positive from the charger to the positive of the battery..it should show the correct ah in the battery bank?
Ok. So I have corrected the connection of the charger. Positive to battery positive terminal and negative to negative buss bar which has the shunt as well. It started charging at 25 amps and the amp hour reading on the monitor which was showing 55 ah started to increase almost immediately. It...
I have the neg on the first battery wired to the shunt B- and the pos on the last or fourth battery wired to the main disconnect switch. The small pos wire on the shunt is wired to the first battery positive terminal. I started with a batteries fully charged and the monitor registered 400ah. I...
