I will go over the topic for sure. My question is rather, I am putting the battery at risk with constant voltage of 13.8, it is not important to be fully charge. I have solar + alternator via dc to dc charger as well.
Hello guys,
For my motorhome I am setting up lifepo4 setup. Since I cannot get them soon due to the virus restrictions I have time to think about my BMS. My 2 favorites are Dali and "Smart BMS"
Dali
What I like is the separate port which will protect my MPPT controller from disconnect.
What I...
In case the BMS disconnects the battery but Solars are connected, MPPT controller will get damage.
Afaik this is solved by Dali with the "separate port" cable.
Hello Guys,
I am planning to make a caravan static as hut. I have solar, Lifepo4 and Epever IPT-2000 Inverter.
The caravan itself has a 3 wire installation with live, neutral and ground (it is European so 220V). I am planning to attached the inverter on quick connect of the caravan.
But while...
Haven't thought about that. It does not have a lifepo4 profile, but still it has an option to make custom settings. This seems to be the solution.
But still my SCC does not have low temp cut off. So I shouldn't be bypassing the BMS.
Mine has no settings or potentiometer unfortunately. 3.45 is high for floating, this is what you mean. I have reviewed several videos of Will and 13.8 is acceptable by battleborn for example. Anyways, in fact there is a risk here.
In general what is the recommended position of the shunts between BMS and battery or after the BMS?
1. If it is in between it will measure the consumption of the BMS itself, but there is a chance it can drain the battery since the BMS won't stop it.
2. If after - BMS protects the battery but we...
Hello Guys,
I have managed to get my hands on 40 cells made by GP - http://liionbms.com/pdf/goldpeak/GP45EVLF.pdf
Divided into 4 packs it seems 3 of the packs are in good shape, one is seems to be not really well.
2 - cells are with damaged isolation and my guess is they shorted out creating a...
I am talking to Dali support on aliexpress, and figured out that the "Separate" port has a very limmited charging capability. The 50Amps discharge BMS has only 8A charging limit. Which is too small for most of the setups with SCC. My charge on good day goes to 10-11amps on the motorhome.
Also...
Yep, there is no much of documentation so I contacted them and here is what they said.
Normal - Constant voltage 13.8V
Maintence - Constant voltage 12.5V
Fast - Boost 14,5V and maintance 13.8V.
Hello Guys.
Just want to confirm something. I am preparing Lifepo4 bank to replace the AUX battery of my motorhome.
I have a charger in the motorhome and in case it connects to mains it will try to charge the AUX battery. It has few settings:
Normal - Constant voltage 13.8V
Maintence -...
