Hello!

Right now, I'm exploring components, looking for those that support an evolving philosophy of use.

I need to mitigate my immediate problem of unreliable power, which is a big problem when you work at home. So, the plan is to build something based on Will's mobile 48-volt power system. Eventually, I'd like to take what I start with and build a more permanent solution.

Right now, I don't want to run any big inductive loads, like a well pump, but I'd like to in the future after expanding.

That is why the EG4 6000XP caught my eye.

Another reason is that a future problem will be physical storage space. If I can reduce the number of inside components now that are necessary for split-phase power, that's a plus.

I currently do not have enough cleared land to support a permanent, sizable solar array, so the immediate plan is to charge the battery or batteries with the grid or portable generator when needed.

Right now, I'm stuck.

Is that a proper application of the EG4 6000XP? Or should I just start out with an EG4 3kW and just change the inverter type down the road when the specific need arises?

Is there anything else that I'm not seeing?

Thanks!

Okay, just documenting my exploration here a bit...

I do not believe that I have a suitable generator to charge batteries through a 6000XP, that is set up for two-phase power, so I'll be going with the EG4 3kW model.

Now, with that established, is there a preferred approach/model for conditioning the line from a generator to the EG4 3kW?
