Prepping for impending grid outage

Good question.
Found this video, skip to 7 minutes.
Appears at least 12Kv would be needed to complete the circuit with the breaker open.
What about the G and N wires that we don't typically disconnect when turning of the grid breaker to our AIOs?

I put my grid connection on a relay controlled by my I-phone.
it only connects when I let it connect. simple and operable remotely.
And yes, the relay is powered from the Off Grid side.
In case of an issue, with the net, the relay activation circuit has a bypass manual switch.
if the grid is down, I have a back up generator in case the sun isn't shining. Dual fuel so options.
best not to rely on a generator to run more than a few hours at a time. Use it to charge up ESS a bit and hope for better sun the next day!
 
My opinion is if a nuclear weapon is fired over the U.S. then there would be a massive retaliatory response. Fallout everywhere. Our rivers and streams full of radiation. Wildlife dies and then much later most of us. Not going to prepare for that with an EMP shield. Unless you have years of food, because that is how long it will be before we can grow our own we are doomed. I'm preparing for the grid failure scenario where 90% of the population is gone in a year. Better odds I feel but what do I know! Funny how 3 years has turned into us fearing nukes again!

Yes, our own governments are our worst enemy. The totally unnecessary lockdowns caused far more suffering than their non-existent virus, and their fraudulent PCR 'test'. We know that the whole thing was a scam, for one simple reason: thousands of 'unvaccinated' people are NOT dying every month in any country on Earth: so what happened to the 'deadly virus'? We also know 'Covid' was a scam because the average age of those dying 'from' or 'with' 'Covid' was the same as the average life expectancy of the general population! And yet none of our useless politicians could see why that proved there was no 'pandemic'.
I am very happy to answer any questions you have.
In a grid down scenario, I would only run my fridge and freezer, and a low power PC, (possibly my 7" tablet), and use wood and coal to heat my house, and to cook on. (I have two tons of coal, and a large amount of wood, for my wood burner, but I normally use mains gas for heating, the coal and wood I am keeping until I have to use them.)

There's a reason why we are here on this forum. We are here to share information and get advice about all things solar. There are people here who have far more experience than you or me. We can call them experts or professionals. There's a reason why I don't ask my mailman what kind of fuse I should use with my solar panels. There's a reason why I don't ask the trash guy about the type of MPPT controller to use. I'm sure you wouldn't take medical advice from a car mechanic instead of your doctor. We take doctors' advice because they are the expert and they know far more than you or me. I typically don't take advice from radio shock jocks. They are professionals at what they do, but they are certainly not experts when it comes to giving advice, whether it's about covid, solar panels, auto repair, or taxes.

I know 2 people that died from the "non-existent virus," a cousin and a co-worker.

Why are you here then? This forum is the authority on all things solar. It's not the absolute authority, but we all come here anyway to get what we need and give back when we can.

I did not address a single thing you said because you are not the authority on covid.

I have never seen a virus spread like COVID. Maybe I never paid attention before, but a population, even when vaccinated got hit. Two years in I finally got it, just a minor cold, but by then I was three times vaxxed.

We all believe we choose what to believe. Though I would assume, on this of all forums, I can state the truth that "there is no magic".

if we see a storm in the weather forecast:
Charge up the ESS to full,
cut un-necessary loads that you can.
hope your batteries last longer than the storm does, because solar is typically zip during poor weather!

About the same people that die from flu every year died from COVID-19… But miraculously, nobody was dying from the flu during that time.
