Hello fellow DIYers working on my set up cheap Chinese cells and wondering if someone other than the two YouTube videos has experience with this isolator, not interested in Renogy’ or Redarc’, please let me know, I’m thinking going for it, Battleborn people only recommend this.

Curious. I've never seen that before.

This is a bit more useful:

That still subjects it to 100% output for almost 50% of the time.

For that price, I'd consider spending a little more on a Victron Orion:

This allows for the Jump-Start Assist of your Coach from the House Batteries as well. My coach currently has the
BIM-160 (not LiFePO4 friendly version) I have not been able to find the LI-BIM 160. I too am curious about this product.

Li-BIM Spec Sheet

Definitely I will research it more, I would like to Have Will’s opinion as he’s a BB lover, this one in particular I heard that works really well specially for none smart alternators, will see how that play out.

So I have a question about this gizmo, as well, so I'm jumping on the thread.

As I understand it, this device protects the alternator by cycling on and off to prevent overheating. Presumably, it charges the coach battery more slowly as a result.

So is there any advantage to upgrading the alternator to a high powered version to send more juice through to the coach battery when it is switched on?

I was thinking the same but not sure if the extra investment in an larger alternator it will really makes a lot of difference, I personally drive a lot of hours to get to the destination (that’s the purpose) the pile it to Solar... not sure if someone is currently using this product and how the performance/setup will be the ideal, but if the BB team recommended it must be taking in consideration.

I believe the youtuber 'explorist.life' reccomends/sells this product through his website. You may be able to find more info there, but his target audience seems to be beginners so the info there may or may not have depth to it.

You’re about right, I’ll check that out. Thx
