I made a tilt mount for my front box. Ive never seen anyone do this. Hell Ive never seen anyone with a front hitch for a box. But my old chevy campervan came with it. So I got a funky shaped hightop that doesnt allow for more than 2 panels and I got tired of lugging my 160w in and out. I came up with this.

I built a wood frame with 2x1's so im not putting pressure on the aluminum of the panel. Simple hinges in the front and a single pneumatic pump found here. Which both holds it up and down. I.E. it doesn't flob when bouncing down the road.

You can do similiar on your roof with a linear actuator and a controller. My front panel outputs 33% more when tilted so you all with limited roof space would benefit with a, frankly badass, remote controlled mechanical tilt panel setup.

Nope. You can make a full remote controlled tilt system for 3 panels under $200.

I'd really love to see exactly how you made this! Could you possibly do a video or close up with step-by-step pics? I've never made anything like this. Thanks.

You take 1x2 boards and make a rectangle. Lots of ways to do this. I made it about half the length and full width. Then bolt the panel to the frame. Then screw hinges to the wood frame. Then screw other half of hinges to the roof or mounting surface. Then you just screw the pump to opposite side of frame on one end, and about halfway underneath the panel to the mounting surface/roof.
