My attention to detail was lacking when I watched Wills video about installing a 48v solar array. Everything is in place except I noticed that my 48v step down to 12v converter is rated for 240 watts.

If I run my dehumidifier (which occasionally uses uses over 400 watts) will my converter blow? And what happens if my array is producing over 2k watts?

Your 400-watt "thing" will overload your 240-watt "thing".

If you have a 48V setup, why do you have 12V things? Did you setup your 48V setup to have 120VAC output?

If you have an MPPT, not much will happen. The charge controller charging the 48V batteries will see they are charging or charged. When the batteries reach the voltage level you set, the MPPT will basically dial down the solar panels, or turn them off.

Thanks Jason

Yes I am setup for 48v and I added a step down converter as everything I own runs on 12v. What can I run on 48v? And yes I run a 48v Growatt all in one thing

48v setups are generally used to have a 120V or 240V AC inverter. Then you just use regular household AC appliances.

Brand & model dehumidifier, please? Electrical specs per label would also prove quite helpful to those of us willing to assist.

My dehumidifier is an Amazon special called Home I don’t see a model# but here are the specs.

Thank you for the help.

Yes I have a 48volt Growatt all in one. Don’t I need to step down the voltage to 12v to run my dehumidifier?

We are confused because your dehumidifier is not a 12v device. Just plug it into the 120vac outlet of your Growatt and you're set. It will use up to 550w at 120v, slightly more for a few seconds while it starts up. Then it will probably settle back to < 500 running watts.

Yes. On the second picture you posted it clearly states 115v, 60Hz, AC ONLY!

I cannot see the plug at the end of the cord but it should fit the AC outlet of your Growatt just fine.
