Just looked it up, looks like a pretty darn sweet inverter for $2,000. Guess I’d have to figure out a 120-500vdc battery though.

At least the lead acid batteries don't require a super expensive UL 9540(flavor of the week) cert.

Yeah, it's funny they are treated as though they are safer than LFP.
Speaking of LFP, and totally off topic, but I saw reports this morning on the LFP-based powerwall 3 being installed. I don't know if the customers receiving them are some special test group or if it's just another case of Tesla changing products on the fly without telling customers, but it is LFP, and apparently the inverter now supports 11kw, which isn't too bad.
If all companies switched to LFP, maybe some of the restrictions would be lifted, or maybe they'll come up with new rules for LPF batteries, which would be a good thing.
