New RichSolar 6000 (aka LV6048) fault code 01

Hello all, new to the forum. I just installed my system (DIY) at my ranch/barndo this weekend. And upon booting up the inverter I received a fault code 01. Which is the fan is locked and replace.

Well reached out to RichSolar and ShopSolar, where I purchased and they give two options.

1. Open the inverter, cut the plastic on the left fan.
2. Send back the inverter for repair.

Well option 2 is not ideal, just because it's a PIA to ship and just disappointing to to uninstall everything and then ship.

Option 1, I have no idea what plastic they are referencing. Assuming there is some intrusion on the fan.

So the question, has anyone had a similar issue. Also, can anyone provide a replacement part number or model for the fan? Many thanks.

I don't know about this specific gear, but it sounds like they are referring to a cardboard or nylon tie packing on the fan blade (for shipping). I'd open it up (de-energized), gently grasp a fan blade and attempt to move it. When you find your intrusion, does it look like something that can be removed and thrown away?

I may be way out in left field, but your 2 choices make it sound like those folks have a dry sense of humor.

Well found the issue. They were correct, there is a plastic shroud around the fan units. Which one of them was cut long and the edge was in the fan. Snipped it clean and the inverter was running fine.

Obviously a quality control issue. Thanks for the response and agree with you. As I thought, really, these are the solutions?

Oh thats a bummer. Glad you found what was wrong. I have not seen this issue before
