    Luyuan battery case

I believe the flexible bus bars have the orange heat shrink like on Luyuan's Alibaba website and in the first picture in @Steve_S post #543 above. They are made up of many thin copper layers laminated together at the ends.

    Luyuan battery case

@Steve_S thanks for all your help. Not just on ordering the parts from Amy, but also on actually putting them together correctly. (y) The boat with my order is supposed to arrive on the 28th, but I'm not sure how long it takes to get through customs and for UPS to deliver it.

Oh just a small 46.7kWh set of cells (looks like 304Ah cells). And that's just half your order?... Awesome!

My wife hates extension cords please help

It is important that every old house has one switch, or I guess now 4 single outlets, that no one knows what they are for!

    Predator or Champion?

I always use Stable Marine 360 fuel additive and Sea Foam Marine in everything that is seasonal. My RV, boat, lawnmower, motorcycle, and generator all sit unused for months (or even up to a year) at time and never have problems starting. For the generator lawnmower I end the season by filling...

    Predator or Champion?

I don't know who did the lobbying to require those "anti-spill" gas cans, but they aren't! They suck and always seem to make more of a mess than the good old fashioned spout with a vent on the top of the other side.

Not a complaint, but a request.

Be careful! This is one of the best forums I have seen or been on. I find it very open, informative, and supportive. I find differing (but respectful) opinions to be a valuable tool for me to learn from. While it is valuable to always try to improve, remember the motto "If it ain't broke...

OOL - what is the cheapest LiFePO4 12V 100Ah battery you'd recommend to a family member

Here are Will's recommdations: https://www.mobile-solarpower.com/lithium-batteries.html Instead of two 100Ah batteries, wouldn't it be better to get one 200Ah or even 300Ah battery?

    Unintended ground rod

Maybe they did bond it underground. I know there was no connection in the house. I just remember it was a really expensive add-on that I didn't think we needed in Oregon. Unfortunately the framer talked to the clients and freaked them out. There was a lot of very expensive cable going from a...

    Unintended ground rod

When I was in construction we did a couple of house roof lightning rods. They were completely isolated from ALL the wiring in the home. They had several large cables go straight to deep ground rods. One was because lightning struck about 100' from the house when a framer was on a aluminum...

What was your most interesting recent non solar project?

Crap! I really should stop watching this thread. You all have already fueled my addictions enough with the solar batteries and enough blue going into my RV to make @sunshine_eggo feel like a proud papa smurf. Now my wife caught me surfing the web looking at 3D printers, which I tried to change...

    Understanding Batteries and voltages

If you haven't already bought the batteries, you really want the batteries to match the voltage of your system (so 48V batteries). As @alcook62 explained, running batteries in series can work, but requires a lot more monitoring and manual baby sitting/hand holding to safety and efficiently run...

    Luyuan battery case

Back to the grounding of the cases that was discussed in the last couple of pages in this thread..... So wouldn't the ground wire need to go back to where the system is grounded like to the main neutral-ground bus bar? Or else wouldn't you get the issue of potentially electrifying the case...

How long does the boat usually take? It looks like UPS will pick it up from the boat or container once in the US.

    Luyuan battery case

That is pretty much what I did. I just said I want what @Steve_S got with the new EVE 304Ah double thread cells. Amy know exactly what I was talking about and even asked if I wanted single M8 thread case terminals like Steve or double. I just followed what Steve did. So they will be just...

    Luyuan battery case

Now that I got sucked into all this DIY power, I have about 5 years of projects planned. I'm kind of banking on the continued help and advice from the likes of you and @Steve_S. So the two of you have got to stick around!

24v Bank Dead - upgrade to 24v LiFe or scrap system for 48v - WANTED recommendations

Although, I would much rather do 24V batteries than 12V in series. So I if i couldn't wait for batteries from Amy, I would rather pay a little more and get 24V like these Litime https://www.litime.com/products/litime-24v-230ah-lifepo4-lithium-battery-200a-bms-5888wh

24v Bank Dead - upgrade to 24v LiFe or scrap system for 48v - WANTED recommendations

Yes the waiting is hardest part! Are ecoworthy decent quality? Batteries look suspiciously similar to LiTime. I wonder if they are made in the same factory. If the quality is decent, their solar trickle charger looks like a great deal and would be perfect for my boat.

24v Bank Dead - upgrade to 24v LiFe or scrap system for 48v - WANTED recommendations

Actually cheaper would be to order some from Amy (https://szluyuan.en.alibaba.com/). For about that same $2000 (including shipping) you could get two 24V 304Ah battery kits. Which would give 50% more Watt-hours.
  23. S

    Luyuan battery case

I would have thought shipping would eat up savings on a single battery, but your price is still $250 less than the 230Aah that LiTime is selling. Good to know!

24v Bank Dead - upgrade to 24v LiFe or scrap system for 48v - WANTED recommendations

I don't think 24V is going away anytime soon. Right now it seems to be a sweet spot in RV (kind of a Goldilocks between 12V & 48V). In fact, over the last couple of years it seems there are more 24V batteries and options on the market, not less.

    Luyuan battery case

I am curious if your thoughts on grounding the steel cases are any different in an RV? I am getting the same steel cases from Amy as many of you have in 24V 304Ah batteries with the new JK BMS. This will be tied into dual Victon 24/3000 Multiplus I system. It seems like It would be...

Future heat pump technology could boost efficiency by 50%?

I found this interesting article about research on electocaloric heatpump technology: https://arstechnica.com/science/2024/05/a-single-polymer-works-as-a-complete-heat-pump/ Two things I find interesting is that the system can be built up in series so it seems any input voltage size could be...

EG4 Mini-split kinked one of the copper line sets

It is probably just type-m flexible copper, so it seems you could cut the lines and solder couplings in. I imagine they should all be the same length. Just make sure you are not below the manufacturers minimum length, but I think that can be adjusted if the system is recharged.

Small off-grid cabin system design (in reverse?)

If you are going with lead batteries putting 6V in seies to get the desired voltage is better because in 6V deep cycle batteries the plates in the batteries are thicker. So they are more durable and will last longer. Lithium is different because they need a BMS and you really want a BMS to be...

Luyuan Tech Battery Testing/Reports Info & More

Thanks. I want to take the time to do it right. We like dispersed camping (or whatever it is in an RV that is bigger and nicer than my first apartment).
