Yes I got USB port working on my Lv5048 on my laptop. I also got it to work off the WiFi card and box sold on eBay to work on the RS-232 port on lv5048 very difficult to make work. Secrets found by calling mpp....through eBay. Also if you questions on wifi unit maybe I can answer!?

The bronze diameter was bought as 0.75 but the actual size was 0.8...fortuitously matches the inner diameter of the pipe.

The insulator is plastic schedule 3/4" 40 water pipe and the collars are cut from schedule 40 cap....also could be cut from a schedule 40 coupling. Plastic pipe cement is used to bind the collar to the pipe. The collars are pressed together against the through wall metal. The water pipe should...

    LV5048, 4 renogy 300w panels and 8 Battleborn batteries...in de box!

I added a picture of a newly fabricated through box terminal. The old one was intermittent and got hot and burned a hole almost through a battleborn battery. The new one is made of bearing bronze (easy to cut on a lath or hacksaw and tap). The hardware screw, washer and lockwasher are stainless...

For the fun of it I used a DC ammeter to check the current to see how well the MPP estimates power. I remember reading on one of the threads (somewhere) that the LV 5048 MPP is not to accurate on its measurements and display. So...it said 52W on two of the panels, the MPP says 69V and calculates...

I'm afraid I haven't been too careful on the labels in my block diagram. 220vac should be 240. The output disconnect should read 240vac output disconnect.

I did some trig and found out generally how to make the supporting structure fit the slope of the roof. The roof slopes in the opposite direction that I wanted it to slope....slopes to the North. I basically used the old idea that triangles in a structure makes it strong (parallels allow the...

Much more difficult when you build it from scratch...buying steel from steel mill, having it galvanizing cutting and drilling etc. I motorized it....so that it's less trouble to raise or retract

What to do if your Battleborn battery's go dead when you connect your big inverter

Yes problem is when you first connect or reconnect the battery. You may still experience battery internal disconnect....if you do use a 12v charger on each affected (measure voltage).

Again this is exactly what Will showed us how to do.

What to do if your Battleborn battery's go dead when you connect your big inverter

If you have only an inverter you are connecting a resistor may work to charge caps.

What to do if your Battleborn battery's go dead when you connect your big inverter

I rather suspect if it's an all in one the unit itself requires battery power....which will drain your caps and make the resistor charge of no use.

What to do if your Battleborn battery's go dead when you connect your big inverter

Battleborn says use a surge suppressor for inverters over 4kw. I think yours is 2kw? Anyway using a resister is the civilized way to do it....as long as the caps in the inverter don't discharge too fast.....remove all loads from all in one

The 60' 160, 80, 40m vertical on palm has raised (fence high) trapped coaxial radials. There is a tuner box with fixed L's and C's at the base. I also have a TR switched 160, 80, 40 trapped dipole on fence line for receive noise reduction....all on a small City. The homemade diy 35' telescoping...

What to do if your Battleborn battery's go dead when you connect your big inverter

I figure that $280 for the surge protector beats chance of wrecking about 8k of batteries!

What to do if your Battleborn battery's go dead when you connect your big inverter

Battery can at least stand 200amps for a half second. By ohms law 50v/ 0.25 ohms gives you 200amps ....I would imagine that anything bigger than say 1ohm would work. Of course bear in mind that you could burn the resistor up if it doesn't have enough wattage to withstand the surge energy. Also...

Yes...it should but as with everything else ....sometime things don't work like they should.

What to do if your Battleborn battery's go dead when you connect your big inverter

Testing phase is next: Will it work repetitively? Soon as I get a better charger for standby in case it doesn't work and batteries disconnect. Old battery charger croaked

What to do if your Battleborn battery's go dead when you connect your big inverter

Ended up buying buying battleborns surge suppressor: Csl500 model. I did that so that each time I disconnect the batteries or breaker is tripped I won't have to parallel a battery charger to each open battery to get them online again.

I bought a victron 712 monitor. The wiring diagram for the batteries shows two 48v strings connected to buss bars. I bought the temp sensor. You can also monitor the midpoint voltage deviation....but not at the same time. So I used a spdt switch to do both.

Yes I am doing 120/120 split phase....(240). I didn't do the cheaper sinopoly because I liked the idea of having to not deal with lots of BMS wires. Yes you could make sure it was all done right with strain relief on the leads and providing a proper enclosure...like battleborn has!. The...
