Hmm -- overlooked the obvious ... I can put an inline fuse in the external red wire(s) on the cell(s) that I had to jumper in the black box. I'm thinking the glass tube type AGC 2.5 or 3 amp I can only imagine how many of these 'blown fuse' BMS units are piling up and getting tossed out !! Over...

Would anyone consider this surface mount fuse to be a bad design ? When a fuse pops are you really gonna ship it back to China for repair ?

What is the cause of our 'fusible links' blowing ? Is it fatigue ? Poor design ? Are fuses there to protect the bigger silicon based device(s) ?

When I substitute another identical JKBMS unit it shows fine, just this one. It stopped correctly reporting while we were at sea, on a cruise for 9 days.

These bms units pull and push up to 2 amps into a supercapacitor. Active balancing. That's their purpose in life. So the mosfets or other switching devices, failed. It's just a shame with the other 22 circuits apparently good, and I only need 17, there isn't a workaround to use the 'still...

Is it a good take that for a fixed inverter size, one is better with two or three battery strings, rather than just one. Less current in each string of cells. Easier with 3 banks to always stay under 0.5 C in and out.

You can also use a 'temp gun' to locate a weak/bad connection at a lug. It shows up best under high current charge or discharge times.
