    Deye Firmware Tracker Thread

I have tried it and it worked, stayed enabled etc. But it resulted in inverter faults (F20/F24) and strange behaviour so I disabled again. The first curve shows normal PV output on a clear day, second shows how it behaves with "MPPT Multi-Point Scanning" enabled. Small dips in production all...

Monitoring sunsynk (deye) via intelless API

It's possible with the Sunsynk add-on. Read in the documentation about rwsensors. There's also a modbus document from Deye which publishes all the modbus registers. You can create custom sensors in the add-on to be able to read/write any of these that aren't already supported.

Simple Seplos BMS Protocol Decode Bash Script

I have also been having some issues with getting the SEPLOS_MQTT script working. I found that when byte4geek made the changes suggested by @roverga above, they missed one. See https://github.com/byte4geek/SEPLOS_MQTT/issues/10 After making that change, it is working for me on a 10E BMS.

    My 2P16S LF280K Battery Build

I have an 8s Heltec BMS for another mini build I am doing, and the quality, size and weight of the Seplos BMS seems way better than the Heltec. Basically I bought the Seplos because I wanted something that supported comms to my inverters, but I would buy it again (or something similar like a...

    My 2P16S LF280K Battery Build

Ordered it directly from Seplos, arrived within a couple of weeks via DHL or fedex I think. Shipping wasn't cheap to New Zealand though.

    My 2P16S LF280K Battery Build

Thanks, yeh that was a thought. It looks pretty flimsy, but the shelf is rated for 500kG so it should be fine unless it gets wet as you say. Fortunately the shed is very dry and warm and it's off the ground so I decided it wasnt work spending $200ish on another sheet of aluminium.

    My 2P16S LF280K Battery Build

Yeh Seplos 200A 10E BMS. I am pretty happy with it. I like that you configure it via pc software rather than a mobile app using bluetooth. It just seems a bit more industrial. Most of the settings are very difficult to understand becuase of the poor translation from chinese to english. So be...

    My 2P16S LF280K Battery Build

Battery all done I also had to make some changes upstream at the inverters. This included replacing the old 40A DC MCBs with 125A DC MCCBs and redoing some of the DC cabling. Mostly complete I didn't have to do much in here, but here's a peak inside the battery isolation panel. It is ready...

    My 2P16S LF280K Battery Build

Thought I'd share some pics of my battery build. Happy to hear any constructive criticism. I modelled it off Andy's (Off Grid Garage) battery rack. My old bank (~40kWh of lead acid that was now only good for about 8kWh) Removing the old batteries (each cell weighs about 12kg) New cells...

    Deye Firmware Tracker Thread

Yeh, they had trouble with connection with my inverters one time so they gave up and sent me the file and instructions on how to do it.

    Heat sink contact

For me there's a 1.5-2mm gap between the heatsink and the back of the 2mm aluminium cover. I used 15mm stand-offs and my rj45 ports are almost perfectly flush with the front of the cover, but the dip switches are 1.5-2mm back.

    Heat sink contact

I've just ordered some 3mm thick thermal pad for my one. Lucky I read this thread before I commissioned by battery.

    Thanks, good to know!

    Heat sink contact

I figured it would be fine because Seplos mounts these BMSs the same way in their own batteries afaik.

    Heat sink contact

If anything, the heatsink touching the cabinet could be an advantage as some heat will conduct into the cabinet. Just make sure the cabinet is earthed and you should be fine. Ps. I'm doing exactly the same with my Seplos BMS, but mine doesn't quite touch. I hope the bms doesn't generate too...

USB-rs485 adapter for seplos bms 10E

So have you made an adaptor cable to cross the pins over so they match? You could otherwise just order an official adaptor from Seplos, they ship pretty quickly.

Deye 5kw 3250W per MPPT limit and 9 panels

To determine that, we would need to know what the climate is in your location. If the temperature gets below 20 degrees Celsius during daylight hours (i.e 9am in the morning), then you need to calculate the Voc at that lower temperature (the panel datasheet will tell you what the Voc to...

Who is actually manufacturing this inverter?

Another hint taken from the Deye datasheets: The single phase inverters have a lower MPPT voltage range than the three-phase inverters. This is because the inverter steps the MPPT voltage up to ~320V or a bit higher (thats peak to peak voltage for 230V RMS) and then chops it up to make the AC...

Who is actually manufacturing this inverter?

I wish we could just convince Sol-Ark to be open about all this stuff. I.e give us the whole truth I.e we employ X engineers, X sales people, X support people We have design input on these aspects of the inverters.... The inverters are entirely manufactured in China and tested (and/or modified)...

Las Vegas All You Can Charge EV Buffet! :)

We have a model 3 and new shape leaf. + we also have a friends MX to look after at the moment while they are away overseas. You really don't miss the dash in front of you when driving the 3. In some ways its better because you dont have to worry about the steering wheel height blocking the...

Who is actually manufacturing this inverter?

I dont think anyone (except perhaps jcromer) thinks that Sol-Ark or Deye designed the first hybrid inverter, however, to develop any hybrid inverter from scratch (even now that there are so many on the market) would be a huge job and require a huge amount of design work by very...

Who is actually manufacturing this inverter?

I found this (which I have only read bfiefly), but it seems to say that Sol-Ark sells "Deye's storage string inverter products and technology". https://casetext.com/case/portable-solar-llc-v-lion-energy-llc This confirms my (and many other's thoughts) that Sol-Ark did not develop the...

Who is actually manufacturing this inverter?

Lol "came up with it" "Hmm, many US households have >100A supplies, but Deye only puts in up to 50A grid relays in their inverters. Lets see if we can get a 200A relay in there for our customers." Any competent engineer would think of that within the first few minutes of reviewing Deye's...

Who is actually manufacturing this inverter?

So these are your main innovations? These are just minor modifications to the Deye inverters to make them more US friendly. Are you saying Sol-Ark didn't design the main features of your inverters? I.e Power electronics circuitry to allow nameplate rated power (or higher) into the batteries, out...

Who is actually manufacturing this inverter?

Ok, if you can get Deye to corroborate that, we will believe you.

Who is actually manufacturing this inverter?

Like I said, issue a joint statement with Deye saying that Sol-Ark designed their line of Hybrid inverters (that's what you seemed to be claiming in your post above) from the ground up and is the primary contributor to development of them, and I'll believe you. It will probably do wonders for...

Who is actually manufacturing this inverter?

It is generally accepted that Sol-Ark is a reseller of Deye inverters with a few modifications and a 3fold price increase. Any claims to the contrary would need to be backed up by atleast a joint press statement by Deye/Sol-Ark explaining how Sol-Ark developed the Hybrid inverters from scratch...

Wow is all I can say

Good on you Scott for participating in this thread. I'm looking forward to your future videos where you get to add some more batteries and tidy up all the wiring etc. You will be able to learn a lot on this forum.

Unboxing Crate of LF280Ks direct from EVE

Yeh, thats what I'm thinking. Since these cells have the nice big wide, two bolt terminals, there shouldn't be any issues with small contact areas causing hot spots. I will measure the bars to see what the CSA is, and work out the max current they can handle.

Unboxing Crate of LF280Ks direct from EVE

You can contact them through Alibaba if you'd prefer to use the protection that Alibaba provides. But we did the transaction directly with EVE. So as to avoid sounding like an EVE salesperson, I'll just say their contact details are all on their website.
