    Combination Inverter/Charger or Separate Units

Are you looking for a low in the 18-19 v range instead of the usual 20-21? The only one that I am aware of is one someone around here managed to dig up made by Samlex that had a low of 19 if I recall correctly...can’t seem to find the thread at the moment...may have been in the the first draft...

Have you considered these opinions about Lithium batteries?

    Just make your own battery...

I understand your thinking but you need to follow the guy for a while and one will realize he isn’t. The first few times I watched his videos I thought basically the same thing...so many red flags went up that I ignored for him quite some time. Started following again about a year ago and...

12v dc vs 120v ac appliances

Anyone know how the ac/dc fridges work? I assume there must be some sort of inverter/converter internally? One way must be a bit more efficient because it is running in its native current?

Have you considered these opinions about Lithium batteries?

Go easy on the guy...he’s just been exposed to a a little too much lead and may have done some acid when he was younger...also some of the side effects of too much lithium are confusion and anxiety. It all fits...once you understand where someone is coming from you still may not agree but at...

12 to 48V upconverter to charge through solar input - would this work? (yes, it does)

Can’t speak to those last to links of products I sent you as I have never used them. I’ pm pretty sure I have seen a YouTube video on one of them at some point. On the one you are thinking about using... Be prepared for that to be pretty warm. I also am just a Diy and certainly not a EE but...

12 to 48V upconverter to charge through solar input - would this work? (yes, it does)

It sure seems like they are using something like this to allow for what appears to be buck boost? This board says it is mppt and also allow for alternatives to solar... https://www.beyondlogic.org/lt8490-mppt-buck-boost-multi-chemistry-battery-charger/

12 to 48V upconverter to charge through solar input - would this work? (yes, it does)

Well I see what you are saying... I think the other issue/specs to consider is the fact that you will be making out that dc to dc converter. Many of the cheaper controllers/converters kind of exagerate the max specs...might see if there is one that has a bit more leg room? Just a thought...

12 to 48V upconverter to charge through solar input - would this work? (yes, it does)

well I guess those that can’t get the gist of what I was getting at there is little help that will do any good Good point... couldn’t agree more. They certainly will be looking for any escape hatch for why their product blew up...even if it was clearly not the consumers fault, it will be...

12 to 48V upconverter to charge through solar input - would this work? (yes, it does)

I think that might be answered by them... very small chance it would work but if you are trying to mimic solar panels and running it thru a mppt controller built into the unit, it is very unlikely it will not toast your components. I am aware of only 1 mppt controller that actually states that...

Budget charge from alternator addition to solar

Completely agree with not needing mppt however there may be other features with this that you are not going to easily find on a simple converter?

Budget charge from alternator addition to solar

This controller works. It states right in the instructions, I used it that way to test my system, and there are videos on YouTube and posts on other forums showing it. If it didnt work, I would not have included it and then continue to state as such.

Good day all! I'm from the Bahamas.

Sorry to hear bout the losses you DID have...after going thru that one gratitude to simply alive!. I would think that controller/inverter could get by with the smallest of battery capacity with a low voltage alarm to at least make it work during the day. Maybe one 12v 25ah battery to deal with...

I’m sure it is doable and with a little creativity can be done for less than more but the problem so often is that a person posts and simply says...I want everything at the same time, anytime and possibly all of the time.... Well the free advise to that is “it’s almost impossible without deep...
