    Copper busbar

At least he did not spell it Metre. Give him that much. On the bright side with Metric we can take 10mm x 15mm x 1.2 = 300AH. If the battery BMS is putting out 100AH max, seems about right for me. Could get away with smaller, but run with what you got.

Trying to start a set up in my bus

They could start with using screws instead of short staples. Did an install on a 1 month old Brinkley earlier this year. Suppose to be a higher end 5th. Had to spend about 3 or 4 hours cleaning up their cables. We are talking about companies that will not spend the time to cut tie wraps to...

    parallel battery bank question

As mentioned one is fine. Only time we use at each battery is if the positive terminals are in a sketchy area (possibility of being shorted), in that case we use those marine type battery post fuses. Could be what is confusing could not. 150ah might be a little close if the inverter has a...

Portable dual battery setup in vehicle

Good catch and research. It is your call if needed. The problem I see without, is if you throw your "power selector switch" you have the potential to drain your starter battery even if the vehicle is running. I am speculating worse case that with a 90a compressor running alternator will not...

    Components list for new system

Strange that the limit it to 44". If it were 44.7 inches per panel, just 2.8" longer overall, it would include 98% of the panels made. Wonder if it was on purpose? Most of the 156 cell panels should work. 495w or so, not quite 500 but close...

    Help with Winnebago Minnie Winnie

As mentioned, check the fridge vent. Most cases you can get below the floor and onto the frame easy and accommodates easy routing. If that works for ya, usually the easiest way.

Any experts capable of cracking this faulty system?

Get the proper PV voltage to the AIO then work from there.

Portable dual battery setup in vehicle

Read up on battery isolators and their advantages here. They are made specifically for what you are trying to accomplish here. Is this setup in the trailer or in the vehicle? You want the battery charger as close to the battery as possible. But your 60ah breaker in front of the battery will...

Trying to start a set up in my bus

Elkhart is not known for their brilliance and innovation over there. Until they can find a way to save a nickel, it will still be 99.9% 12v.

    Components list for new system

Agree on the 370w panels. Is there a reason? Quick look at the ground mount from EG4 it appears to me that you could put a 500W+ panel on them. Manual is pretty thorough, but lacking on panel racking sizing. With 500w panels (cost difference is minimal these days), you could eliminate one...

Protection mode should yield 0 volts should it not?

Trying to start a set up in my bus

Prevost being the exception, it is a bus after all. :) Probably the only one. Heck even my King Aire is 12v. Including start.

    Help! Inverter not happy.

Battery capacity should have no effect on the CC. Does the battery have voltage (i.e. did it go into protect mode)? Did it work, than gave up, or never worked? Was the fuse bad? More info needed and probably some work with a meter.

Portable dual battery setup in vehicle

Looks like a good start! Couple of things jump out after a quick look. 1. Where is the isolation from the starter battery to the house battery (i.e. diode)? 2. Your power source switch is confusing, Think of it as you really should just be charging the battery from the alternator and the...

Trying to start a set up in my bus

Cart before the horse. Instead of deciding between 12v and 24v, you really need to do an audit (as was already mentioned) of your loads. Then design from there. Now is the time to do the homework, ensuring success. Seat of the pants, 800w of PV and 5.1kw of battery is not going to get you far...

    Off-grid grounding with transfer switch

If the transfer is also your disconnect you are fine bonding there but only there. Need to double check that the invertor is not bonded. Smaller generators are almost never bonded, so safe there.

Panel Purchase and Second Guessing Myself

Did you exhaust your local resources? I know Joliet, IL might be a little far but in stock without shipping. So many horror stories with panels being shipped LTL, would always look local.

Basically a 24v power bank charging from ev power station.

Is that charger using a NEMA 14-50 plug or similar (meaning split phase 240v? Not condoning, as this is some serious power and not for novices........ If so, Iota seems to be pretty popular for what you want. Just need to add the plugin for battery chemistry...

12v alternator: is 24v system worthwhile?

You running the fridge off propane I assume? As mentioned efficiency would be somewhat the same. but the upfront cost will bite you as you will need to buy a 24vdc-to 12vdc convertor as well if you change voltage. Which would be a good enough argument to stay at 12v for a low AH system. Either...

48V upgrage in a fifth wheel?

Had to look at your conclusion. Never noticed such and a big dispersity between the Victron and the EG4 on operating temp as well as storage. Have no clue at the EG4 is so high. Guessing that it is based on the caps used???? Either way I just learned I am double outside the specs for the EG4...

Brett might be onto something with the alert. If not, I think I remember something similar happening to me. Best I can recall now is I deleted the bluetooth connection and reestablished.

Best option for 6-100w series/parallel wiring

If a 12v battery you would be overpaneld for a Epever 4210. If 12v and adding a second (same) battery you could switch to 24v and be safe.

18 kWh System Realistic? Liveaboard / Workaboard

Sail or power? I ask as two different issues come to mind that you need to consider. Shading is difficult on a power boat, more so on a sail. Need to consider in design. Could almost end up with a CC per panel. Not really economical to run a power boat engine to charge (hours, fuel, etc). A...

Question about Shore Power with a 100-150w solar system

Correct to assume you are not running an inverter? Not that it really matters, but on the face, you should be fine. Just make sure you run a charger (made for lithium) and not just a convertor.

southern California flat panel performance in Winter

If it is a trailer and depending on the panel size and mounting you will most likely get some tilt. 5 degrees or so is a lot in Winter. Last 5th wheel, I used the inherent tilt and even increased it a little by bracketery. Only downside, I had to point West all the time when parking, for best...

Growatt SPF 5000ES on Solar Assistant

I had Shine on a previous install. Had to stop playing with it due to the urge to start drinking again. Agree though SA is much better. Not the most powerful and pretty simplistic (as it tries to cross many platforms I assume), but worth it. Not sure how reliant / dependant you are on the...

48V upgrage in a fifth wheel?

Real world, I am doing about 48w idle. But it changes a lot, drives me crazy (temp maybe), but no more than 62 or so. That is coming off the Victron shunt, not the unit itself.

48V upgrage in a fifth wheel?

The EG4s play well with a generator as well with the integrated transfer switch for a generator.
