I have the 100a AT doing load balancing for two MP 3000s in split phase configuration. The AT is much quieter than the MPs (which are fairly noisy), but I don't know if when using it to step down 230v to 120v it would behave differently than my application.

Is there any value in getting the cells closer to the SOC of the existing batteries before putting them into service?

In this case the AT is being used to the balance the loads between the two inverters.

Just getting the cells up to a higher state of charge with a 12v charger before putting them in 16p configuration for top balancing with a dc power supply. Then they'll go into the box in 16s configuration with a jk bms.

Try disabling the low temperature cutoff. One of mine suddenly stopped charging and it was because it stopped reading the temperature incorrectly.

Well I've got an AT on the way and I'm going to proceed with option A. I think that with ~3000va of load balancing the two MPs will do the job for quite a while and then down the road I can add to the system as needed. Thanks for your comments!

To run multiplus units in parallel/series they need to be the same model AND built the same year, according to Victron.
