1000W Inverter to supply shore power

Li Time sent me a replacement inverter. I want to do the same test but I will turn it off when my soc reaches 95%+/-. Deep down I really want to test it to 100%. I put a video together and would appreciate input. I'm still puzzled why I have no issues with traditional shore power charging...

EG4 18kPV issues - turning on and off repeatedly at sunrise and sunset

I get the same on/off at sunrise and sunset on my MPP Solar LV2424 and just thought it's normal. Most mornings it doesn't wake us up but the relay clicking does get annoying. It's been doing thos for over 3 years. It's almost an alarm clock that competes with a rooster if one is around.

1000W Inverter to supply shore power

While I wait my brain keeps turning. My next question is specific to my MPP Solar unit. When the unit is getting power via my solar panels that charge the batteries while it's "off", I'm reading 30v ac at the shore power input. Could this residual power cause my 1000w inverter to have its issues...

1000W Inverter to supply shore power

The manufacturer is claiming that it's either a bad transformer or coil and will be replacing the inverter. I'll update this post once I receive a new one.

1000W Inverter to supply shore power

I have my MPP unit set at a maximum charge rate of 30a so that Im not putting the 1000w inverter or my alternator into over load. My alternator has 180a output so I'm way under. The smoking only begins when I reach 100% soc. I wonder if the MPP unit is causing this. I have my input fused with a...

1000W Inverter to supply shore power

I recently added a 12v 1000w pure sine inverter (supplied via alternator) to supply 110v to my MPP Solar LV2424 shore power input to charge my lithium batteries while driving. Once I've reached 100% SOC my 1000w inverter begins to smoke. The first occurrence was driving on a busy highway and...

    LV 2424 MSD won’t charge above 26.9

I had the same issue and Ian from MPPSOLAR recommended that I adjust the float charge up higher. I'm running battleborns in a 24v setup with my hybrid 2424. I started moving it up from 27.2 to 28 and then after a few hours moved it up to 28.8 and it's been holding fine. Battleborn rep said the...

    West Marine Crimper Usage

Just wanted to let ya'll know that need to crimp wires/connectors and don't want to layout $$ for the occasional use, West Marine locations have heavy duty crimpers and other tools that they allow you to use at their locations. They aren't rentals. I suspect they would want you to use the tool...

    ShunBin Battery Packs: 12V/24V 100AH and up ! A Complete RIP-OFF ! AVOID

Have you contacted your credit card company to see if the can assist? Has Amazon CA washed their hands completely at this point? I would never take option A but would wait to see what happens with the other choices.

I saw the Milwaukee M18 ad popup on one of Will's videos, wow what a nice tool. Great for someone in the trades or someone that will use it often. Maybe Menards will rent them.

    24V All In One System

The one question that is still nagging me is the connection between the MPP unit and the battery. In Will's videos he didn't have a fuse at the battery terminal. I will be using Battleborn batteries in my setup. In a normal setup you would use a 125amp fuse/CB- 2400W/24v =100a x 1.25% 125a...

    24V All In One System

I'm not wanting to know this question. Early on I was asking Will if it was ok to turn off the unit at night to save my 24v batteries from running the inverter needlessly. I think someone else posted this question and I thought that Ian from MPP USA said that the batteries had to stay connected.

    24V All In One System

MPP USA has been running a Black Friday sale and I ordered mine today. I went with the PIP-LV2424 Hybrid so that I could have the WiFi access. I may have to vinyl wrap that Neon Green. I'll be running 2 REC 315w Mono panels wired in series as it will fit into the MPP parameters well. Northern...

using 12v devices while maintaining the simplicity of an All-in-one System

I'm going to be mounting solar panels, light bars and corner lights on my van and will be using a roof gland like this one on Amazon. Obviously get one that will work for your wire size and config. Make sure you seal with some Dicor self leveling sealant to keep it watertight. Here the link and...

    ShunBin Battery Packs: 12V/24V 100AH and up ! A Complete RIP-OFF ! AVOID

Why go down to a 12v battery with the panel setup you have? Have you considered going with 24 or 48v battery. If you already have your Xantrex inverter then I understand why. It's a decision you may want to think about now. I would contact shunbin as their description says customizable on the...

using 12v devices while maintaining the simplicity of an All-in-one System

You've got it backwards. Wiring in series adds voltage but keeps amperage the same. Parallel keeps voltage the same but adds the amperage.

    24V All In One System

Right I'll use a 24v to 12v converter but I'm wanting help with being able to safely turn off the MPP during the night to minimize loss and prevent hearing the loud fan noise. Does the MPP unit have to be treated like you normally do a SCC when powering down/up? Thanks for the reply and for...

    24V All In One System

I'm considering using the MPP 24V all in one system for my upcoming van build and had a few questions about it or them in general. I've watched Will's video about the unit and how the fan runs during usage. During the day when I'm using 120V appliances, I can tolerate the noise but at night...
