Realistic output of install of 14.4kw bifacial panels?

Just for the record, 1 helpful response and 2 people telling me things I didn't ask about without providing anything to the conversation I was attempting to have.

Realistic output of install of 14.4kw bifacial panels?

I do need to verify, but in the manual they state settings for 3 phase, so I just *ASSumed it could. I really only have one 5 ton AC unit (though it is electric heat). If it was on its last leg, I'd think about just getting rid of it, but we replaced it only like 5 years ago.

Realistic output of install of 14.4kw bifacial panels?

As I said, I would have 3 inverters... with a max of 500v and 6000w, I don't think that would be an issue.

Realistic output of install of 14.4kw bifacial panels?

That's the website I was looking at. So a 70% output at peak is max realistic?

Realistic output of install of 14.4kw bifacial panels?

I'm in South Louisiana and these would be on a rack on my roof "optimally" angled and have very little (if any shading). My building faces almost perfectly due south. I'd likely install EG4's new 6000XP (3 of them as I have 3 phase here). So to be as specific as possible... at like the...

Best protection for 200ah 12v LiFePo4 battery install?

Murphy's law... as soon as we get close to selling our sailboat my wife tells me the water pump is running longer than usual (it's a pressure cut off style) and sump pump isn't draining the shower well. I go check it out and install a replacement blower for an AC duct system I custom built...

New Battery on Amazon and Ebay - Global Power 12V100AH LIFEPO4 - $399! Has anybody actually bought one yet? Torn it down yet?

I'm curious, why the interest in this battery when it's actually more than one of the Chins/Ampere Time batteries that have already been proven?

Is DJLBERMPW just another Chins/Enjoybot clone?

I'm seeing these for CHEAP and would love to pick one up if they are the same as their cousins.

BMS with independent charging of cells vs traditional bms

Doesn't all the charging current go through the BMS? I'm being brief and not clear because of it. You could essentially cycle MOSFETs as needed right there is a separate little box, just like a BMS for the most part but it would be more active in charging from the main charging source vs...

BMS with independent charging of cells vs traditional bms

I would assume you would run one large run or just tap off the main lines to pull the charging current from. Which would mean you would have runs off just a couple of feet at best. Right now what size leads are most ppl using on their BMS. If you just used that wouldn't you essentially be...

BMS with independent charging of cells vs traditional bms

So forgive me if this is obvious but what I've seen is mostly traditional bms where is bleeds of the high cell then bulk charges over and over until it's all top balanced. My understanding is that this is relatively slow due to the small wires and resistors used on each cell by the BMS. Then...

Upgrading my solar system, am I missing something?

I'm guessing I need a battery monitor. Can someone tell me the difference between the "budget battery meter" and the hall effect one right below it? I mean, I know one uses a shunt vs the hall effect sensor but do they do the same job? Is one better than the other...

Upgrading my solar system, am I missing something?

So I bought a boat with six BP 85 watt panels and a pwm charge controller going to six 2v 490ah agm batteries in series. I don't think there is any other notable components. Well I decided to start the upgrade with the charge controller. Went with the PIP – 1012LV-MS hybrid controller. It...

    Upgrading my solar controller?

Currently I have a T60 pwm controller. https://unboundsolar.com/3680312/morningstar/charge-controllers/morningstar-tristar-ts-60-charge-controller No external display so it's pretty limited. I could add a few bells and whistles but at that point I could just replace it with a hybrid all in...

    Anyone recognize these batteries?

You guys are awesome! So now my question is, should I have a BMS on this bank given that it's 6 2v cells?

Ah, that helped me lol 490ah battery

    Anyone recognize these batteries?

Here is a cropped brightened pic of that label in case that helps anyone.

    Anyone recognize these batteries?

There is. If you look between the batteries you can see a bit of that label. Has a part number that you can't read and such lol. Looks like it says 70P- <something>. I tried googling 2v agm battery and that number hoping it would have something but nothing so far.

    Anyone recognize these batteries?

Went check the boat today and got a little better look at the batteries. They are pretty beefy. I'll post pictures. 8"x6.5"x18" If you look REALLY carefully you can see a little bit of the label... Couldn't get a better imagine than that.

    Anyone recognize these batteries?

Yeah the listing is a little all over the place. I do need to put eyes on these batteries as I kept forgetting to remove the companionway stairs they hide behind. The contract is us. ?

Bah this is the pop yachts link... But search and you will find sites that don't require login. https://www.popyachts.com/cruising-sailboats-for-sale/beneteau-432-mooring-in-bay-saint-louis-mississippi-204755#&gid=1&pid=90

    Three 80watts I think.

    Anyone recognize these batteries?

I've been thinking of going with a hybrid system that will run off solar/battery until the batteries are too low, then switch to shore power until solar charges the batteries back to ~95% then switch back to solar/battery... Rinse repeat

    Anyone recognize these batteries?

It's not the greatest... It was wired for european ac, so the power controller is an old mastervolt 12-1500 (apparently one of their first models). So he has his "shore power) coming into a solid core romex line that feeds a few outlets on the other side of the boat lol. No inverter at all...

    Anyone recognize these batteries?

I am not certain. I will try to find out, but how can you really trust what the seller of a used "vehicle" says? ;) So they are 2v cells? I assume they are AGM. Anything else that we can tell from the pictures? I'm thinking I want to go 24v as the hybrid charge controllers get better at 24v...

    Anyone recognize these batteries?

We are buying a sailboat and these are the batteries it has. 99% positive is a 12v system so it's kind of an odd configuration to me. It's 3 hours away right now so all I have is this picture, the owner is certainly not one that would know anything technical about it.

All-in-One vs component for essentially same price

Now I can't decide if it makes sense to go 24v when I'll likely only run 12v and 120v(ac) loads. :/
  28. G

All-in-One vs component for essentially same price

Plus Will states that the fans run all the time and are pretty loud and the standby current draw is a bit much compared to most components.
  29. G

All-in-One vs component for essentially same price

That's an excellent point. A 5 ton unit running from 8-6 is a lot of energy and the majority of it is during the day. Just getting most of that from solar would be a big help and would require pallets of panels so that's perfect. The shade on my roof would also help with my problem as well as...

All-in-One vs component for essentially same price

You seem a lot like me. I was definitely drawn to the component system so that I could tinker and make it mine. But in the end, I'm cheap and wanted to save money. Then as I looked at 24v systems it just kept creeping up and I started thinking I was losing that price advantage. Dropped it...

All-in-One vs component for essentially same price

Would anyone recommend an all-in-one vs the component version if the price was essentially the same? I'm looking at a 24v 2.4kw 110v system and it comes out to around $700 bucks. I can buy a 2000 Watt inverter (Giandel) for $290, a EPever solar charger 60 amp for $280 (could even get a 40 or...

All in one that doesn't charge off ac?

I was watching Will's video about the all in one mpp solar inverter/controller with ats built in. From what I've read/seen it looks like they will charge your batteries from the grid. For me that defeats the purpose as I would like to let the solar charger the batteries only. Am I...

Anyone ever used this 300W flexible panel?

I figured it had to be too good to be true. I'll look to see if I can find some used panels locally... I just need about 600 Watts for this project.

Anyone ever used this 300W flexible panel?
