    Luyuan battery case

I'm not an electrician.. But you probably mean grounding the cases back to the main DC negative-ground point. Not just the AC Neutral-ground if you have one. - I do as I'm off grid so I have a Permanent Neutral-Earth (PEN) link inside my main generator (to simulate what the grid would have...

    Luyuan battery case

Yeah I used Starlock stainless serrated washers for the ground screws and also spun around a tiny bit of sandpaper on the face, but there wasn't much paint on my threads. My Luyaun boxes are close to the main hull bond in the my steel barge so it was easy enough and a good idea to do.

    Multiplus vs Multiplus II

Yes there is now, and others did have luck replacing the fans for ones that are quieter with the original fan circuit, I'm not sure if it was as good a fix as the updated II, I haven't read about it yet or compared the two side by side, but maybe it's all good with the kit? If that was a conern...

Yep, think that sounds right. So should be good.

    Multiplus vs Multiplus II

It's probably not going to be that old, but the older Quattro / Multis from around 10 years can't be updated to the latest firmware (500+) to use all functions of DVCC which limits how useful they are if you get a Cerbo or rasPi. So maybe check that first just in case. The serial code normally...

    Luyuan battery case

You don't need ferrules for that type of mechanical clamp terminal, It won't damage the strands unlike a direct screw 'choc block', if anything you'll minimise any increased resistance risk from possible poorly crimped ferrule, and get a better contact surface area than a thick uncompressible...

    Luyuan battery case

For an 8S re doing the harness Isn't really a big deal if the whole front panel and components are being swapped out anyway, shame they don't use the same connectors though! Thanks, valid point. OP had a 200A JK with a 150A breaker though, but if they had cells that have a 0.5C rating of 150A...

    Luyuan battery case

If you'll be able to pull over 150A through the breaker then you'd better get a higher rated one, and it wouldn't harm getting a brand of known quality at the same time. - But - I guess you won't be able to and most likely have 280k / 304's? So 140A / 150A 0.5C rated, which doesn't give any...

Anyone purchase from Gobel Power, experience?

I bought from GobelPower through Alibaba using CC, my quote including all fees was around $3,500 I made sure to double check that it was the final cost to me, but when I went through to the final payment page Alibaba had added another new $100 transaction fee on top, whether I paid in $ £ or ¥...

Best way to avoid panels getting dirty when mounted horizontally

Thanks @cajocars! I had just cleaned the mineral scum off my panels, saw this thread, ordered 24 clips clips from amazon for £5.98, put them on today and it rained after.. They work, so hopefully no more scummy corners. (y)

I must be doing something wrong.

On the other hand: If one is unaware of an unpleasant fact or situation one cannot be troubled by it. "Ignorance is bliss" :p Some people get by and don't need to know how or why something works, it just does, and that's fine. I've been off-grid for 18 years, and now I do like to have the...

BMS active balancer becomes unbalancer as cells age

I don't think balancing from 3.375v will constructively balance the cells as they're still not in the voltage knee yet, so any cell could show a higher or lower voltage but not have a higher or lower corresponding SOC. If a cell is falsely showing a high voltage early and gets balanced dumping...

JK bms is blowing up rs 485 converter

BMS active balancer becomes unbalancer as cells age

If 3.4375v works for you crack on, how long have you been charging like this, does it seem to work ok, are you sure you're not plating, allowing unlimited current charge for 6 hours will still be able to do it at 3.4375, I wonder how much though? I've not tried it, or seen anyone else ever...

    Lfp recycling, UK

I've not tried to recycle lithium cells, but I have used EMR for lead acid who always paid decent prices, and it looks like they do car batteries, so maybe call them: https://uk.emrgroup.com/find-out-more/latest-news/battery-recycling-in-the-uk There's also these guys, don't know anything...

BMS active balancer becomes unbalancer as cells age

If the balance voltage is higher, just before or at target absorption voltage it's not going to start to unbalance the false runners early like before with a lower balance voltage. Until they are all up to the target voltage, and the closer they are to target voltage (further into the voltage...

BMS active balancer becomes unbalancer as cells age

I think a few of us notice this false runner behaviour, but maybe not as bad as you. Weirdly I find in one battery it's normally the middle cells of the string that seem to raise voltage early then become the lowest voltage cells during absorption. I charge to 3.5v per cell (28v) absorption for...

Victron VenusOS driver for serial connected BMS - JBD / Daly / ANT / JKBMS / Heltec / Renogy / Tian / ECS

The driver works with many BMS's that use TTL, with a TTL to USB adaptor, I don't see any AIM BMS's on the list, have you read this and gone to the discussions?: https://louisvdw.github.io/dbus-serialbattery/general/supported-bms

    Luyuan battery case

Yeah I have the same breaker in my Luyuan boxes, I will also never use it for breaking a current higher than a few amps, I'll use my NH disconnectors for that. What I love about this breaker is the two standards printed on the front: GB10963.1 and IEC60898-1 are both standards for AC MCB's (Not...

Help programming JK BMS for 24v EVE cells

I cut all mine to whatever length was needed too, which makes it a lot neater, but all my lead resistance figures were pretty low and similar, I imagine it shouldn't make any difference, and if the BMS can sense a major variation then you can check or increase the AWG to fix it anyway.

Air gap for heat to escape?

Isn't 80°F about 27°C, pretty much all batteries are rated at 25°C so I wouldn't worry if they get up to that at all, but 45°C+ (113°F) yes definitely need to be thinking about cooling going over that. I insulated my battery chest, and put a single 27w heat pad in there, which has kept them at...

Guidance on Alibaba Trade Assurance, cells not shipped on time.

How many cells did you order? How are they packing them? Normally it's four in each box. You didn't pay enough to get a pallet of cells so there's no reason they need to be in a wooden crate unless their packaging is awful. *Edit: Ask for photos of your shipment and the packaging

What gauge wire and fuse for 48v battery and 48/3000 inverter

Please read the Multi manual. It will not disperse heat as well when mounted horizontally, depending on if you have any regulations or codes to comply with, normally electronics like this should be mounted on a non flammable surface (cement board etc), but many just mount on wooden ply. Large...

Guidance on Alibaba Trade Assurance, cells not shipped on time.

GobelPower took 18 days to 'ship' my cells, (I think this was actually just booking the shipment to make it look like they were on time, as the ship didn't actually leave for another 5 days or something) they took 46 days until arriving in the UK then 8 days from customs until delivery = 72...

What gauge wire and fuse for 48v battery and 48/3000 inverter

The contacts of the switch will spark when turned on if you haven't used a pre charge resistor to charge the inverter capacitors first. Multi's/Quatro's will power up from the battery being connected, but they can stay on powered by AC in without it.

What gauge wire and fuse for 48v battery and 48/3000 inverter

Just a side note, don't rely on mega fuses to break a high AIC short circuit current from an LFP bank @ 48V, they are fine for 'normal load' overload. That means either a T Class on each battery or NH fuse disconnectors. I have Mersen 250A NH Disconnectors for each battery going into my Power...

I'm not familiar with the Renogy specs, but I don't understand if you thought they could be used to -20°C, so you used them to -20°C? in the UK? what are they claiming is the working rang? Either way, the BMS is not fit for purpose if it doesn't have low temperature protection and they claim...
