You need to set the BMS dip to 1 to be able to connect to the PC software and update settings and load firmware. Dip 0 will put the same software into parallel mode and you lose access to settings and loading firmware.

The worst combination for galling is 2 parts from the same material as the molecular surfaces match and they fuse naturally with stainless steel being particularly bad. However that matrix shows stainless vs stainless as green, as its for corrosion not for galling.

Not all RS485 to USB converters are the same, I have 3, maybe more types to use when problems start to appear. Sometimes its Windows and the driver at fault, sometimes its the chip and other times a mystery. You also have to make sure in your selection that you have both 3.3V and 5V flavours.

You may be better going for another inverter that does 48V lithium batteries, cost wise it may be cheaper than a new BMS and more cells. I would also not want to be around a DIY 96V battery.

Problem was not mine, I was suggesting solutions or where to look for one. For the JK PB BMS the following Canbus and RS485 protocols are listed, I would take it with caution as it shows Victron Canbus as 500K and its actually 250K.

Solax are the same, no details in the installation manual, so I emailed support and asked for the RS485 register map which they supplied. Did not need to ask about ID as that was set on the LCD screen as was the ability to turn RS485 on. So ask Deye support or google for Deye RS485 register map.

I have none of your kit so can't tell you if or how to set the ID but the manuals should have that info. Some are set using the kits own screen, some via dip switches which then limits the number of ID's.
