    Please help with wire sizing

Hello all, I am in the process of obtaining a 10kw split phase 120v/240v hybrid inverter. I am going to run it in split phase to an electrical panel. I am planning to have 4x20amp breakers and outlet at 120v and 1x50amp 240v outlet. Before you kill me, I am obviously not going to pull all of...

    Order of fuse and disconnect

Hi all, I was wondering what is the proper of fuse and battery disconnect should be? 1. Positive bus bar to fuse to disconnect switch to inverter 2. Positive bus bar to disconnect switch to fuse to inverter Which one of these options is correct? Thank you so much!

    N-G Bonding

Hi. I’m planning to buy this inverter soon. Should I enable or disable this for the neutral and ground bonding?

    N-G Bonding

So the inverter has 2 inputs. It can run with none, one, or two inputs at the same time. The two inputs are: solar and grid 120v. What I’m saying is that if I bond the system now, does that mean when I plug in the 120v grid input, I’ll get two bonding which is against code??

    N-G Bonding

    Mine doesn't have that option.

    N-G Bonding

My inverter is hybrid and allows me to charge from solar AND grid together. I don’t use grid at all but I can if I want to. If I bond my system then when I connect to grid, if I want to use grid + solar, then I’ll have two bonding correct?

    N-G Bonding

First and foremost. I cannot thank you enough. What I meant by saying the panels are connect is that I have a total of 12 solar panels and I connect them 6 in series with 2 string parallels. 1. I thought that means the panels are already bonded? But I got shocked while cleaning them. So maybe...

    N-G Bonding

Also, 4. The inverter has AC charging capability as well, so If I bond N-G and connect the AC charging, that will create 2 N-G bonds. Wouldn't that be very bad?

    N-G Bonding

Thank you so much for this. I have attached the manual for my inverter and the model is HF4850U80-H. My one and only panel IS grounded. I don't see N-G bonding in the manual. It does have a ground screw on the box. Do I have to also run a ground cable to a separate grounding rod from the...

    N-G Bonding

So I have two surge protectors on two different breakers, so that means two different circuits, and I tested the charger with them both and they both worked. That means that one plug in only one of the surge protectors provided NG bonding for the entire system? So that means it’s not only...

    N-G Bonding

Hi. I bought the plug and used it and it works. That means without the plug my system obviously doesn’t have NG bonding. So the plug did the NG bond. But my question is that ok? Or do I bond at panel level because the plug is plugged into the surge protector.

    N-G Bonding

Hi. I do have a ground at the panel as mentioned. But neutral isn’t bonded to ground inside the panel. 1. Do I HAVE TO bond neutral and ground inside the panel? 2. If yes, can I bond them using the bonding plug mentioned? 3. My electrician friend told me that bonding neutral and ground would...

    N-G Bonding

Hi everyone, I have recently built an off grid solar system 6.5kw with an all in one hybrid inverter/charger. From the inverter I run 3 wires, 120v single phase, to a subpanel (could be thought of the main panel as I don't have any other panel) which has 2 breaker slots. I put 2 x 20amp...

Solar Production Exceed Load, Is Battery Used?

Thanks. I have a hybrid charger/inverter all in one and my batteries are 48v with individual bms. The bms shows the cycles are going up even though according to the data, the number of cycles should not go up that fast if it got by passed. So does that mean I got a bad inverter? I was monitoring...

Solar Production Exceed Load, Is Battery Used?

Thank you so much for your reply. Yes. Assuming you ACTUALLY get 1000w from the solar panels, not just the rating. So that means as long as I keep my PV production higher than load, the batteries are untouched?

Solar Production Exceed Load, Is Battery Used?

Hi, I am pretty new to DIY Solar and stuff. I'm just trying to look for the answer to this question: Let's say I have an offgrid solar system with 1kw solar panels and some battery, but I'm pulling only 500w. I understand that I have 500w extra to either charge the batteries if they are not...
