Jenna, at Signature Solar was amazing getting to the bottom of multiple issues:
My 6000xp installed great, but the screws that secure the PV wires failed the 2nd time I used them (had to unhook all wires to test that a spare unit was ok). On 3 of the 4 terminals, they failed to clamp when the screws were retightened...
SS shipped 8 new terminals with a "screw-less" design. I called asking for clarification of how to remove & reinstall PV wires. They referred me to EG4, who (oddly) worried that using what apparently are 18kPV terminals might void my warranty.
Jenna got official clarification that:
1) newer 6kXPs now ship with the screw-less terminals
2) there's no warranty issue
3) she provided a video showing how to use a flat screwdriver to unclamp the spring-loaded clamp.
HEADS-UP: The new terminals apparently require ferrules for all twisted wire, whereas the 6000xp's original screw-type terminals only required ferrules for "fine twisted wire".
The video is available here:
I can't attach it below b/c the forum doesn't like.MOV file extensions. Sigh...
I hope this helps!
