I just bought 17 of them (16 and a spare) for 20 bucks a pop including shipping from Alibaba. I'd swear they were around 10 bucks just a year or so ago.

I went with the 1s units because when one fails I can replace just the one unit and not a 8 unit board.

I wanted to save a few bucks but couldnt find a high amperage balancer of the same quality, simplicity, and reliability. I'll be using a Chargery to keep tabs on the bank and drive relays so all I needed was a balancer. There's another one out there that is covered in red capacitors but it doesnt have the history or reviews I would have felt comfortable with.

EDIT: A couple of the BYD module purchasers on the DIY Powerwall group on facebook have reported uneven wear on individual cells in the modules with an average of 1 to 2 weak cells per module. If thats true a relatively high amp active balancer is a must. Gonna have to test it myself to find. I should have a decent sample size to confirm or deny.
