Is it a BMS and MPPT charge controller rolled up into a single unit?
Yes this is a great product got one during the crowd funding, I got the larger unit with thermal controller but I have not got a chance to build the project I want for it. Using the thermal controller to heat water and a cement slab.
Anyone using this as a BMS only? This has some really cool features and looks stoutly built.
i use the newest SBMS0 as my BMS on 2 Tesla Modules, 24/3000 multiplus, solar charge controler and dc to dc charger. It has low voltage shut off, low temp shut off, over charge shut off as well as auto balancing.Anyone using this as a BMS only? This has some really cool features and looks stoutly built.
I know Dacian has his reasons for using the PWM approach but if he did a MPPT controller it'd be, IMO, a smash hit. He's almost there with the SBMS' ability to interact with a Victron MPPT controller.

Shoot him an email with any questions. He is quick to respond and very helpful.
@Will Prowse should do a video review of this great product for DIY market.
We should be supporting ingenuity of North American engineers who are bold enough to design and manufacture great products, competing with all that generic crap coming from Asia.
Will, I hope you are reading this...
@Carly I have in the past and was quite impressed with his responsiveness (on a Sunday), but for now am trying not to pester him with questions as I'm sure he gets a lot of them.
Do you use, or are you considering, the SBMS?
I have one ready to review :D Just been trying to build my solar shed and review the pile of batteries sent to me. I am getting to it. I have some other super cool bms that you guys will like. Review video to come.@Will Prowse should do a video review of this great product for DIY market.
