After Action Report - Solar trailer recycle project final tally: (AKA Thank god those trailers are outta my yard)
I got the trailers for free aside from the $50 in gas it took me to go get them.
After stripping all three and giving one away, I made $495.20 from the remaining two trailers and batteries I scrapped. That will almost pay for the 24V AIO controller I want for my new system. I also kept the following items shown in the pics. I’ll sell off the Tristars and the Samlex stuff and hopefully have enough to buy a decent LifPo battery. So I’ll end up with a 2.2kW 24V system that is basically only gonna cost me the price of the Unistrut and some wire aside from my labor. That’s about as DIY as it gets. I did spend 6 Saturday mornings (couple of hours each time) getting, stripping the trailers and scrapping them. I’m tearing down a horse barn to use the 4X6 post to build ground mounts. I may need a combiner box also. I will surely need some advice as I build this next system. Thanks to everyone that makes this forum such a great community. I have learned much here.
