priming new batteries

I bought a couple of 35 ah sla batteries for my ups.
I came across this article https://batteryuniversity.com/article/bu-701-how-to-prime-batteries.
Is this valid?
If so how should I proceed to "prime" my new batteries?

answered on the page.

This is done at the factory and is completed in the field as part of regular use.
A new lead acid battery may not by fully formatted and only attains full performance after 50 or more cycles. Formatting occurs during use; deliberate cycling is not recommended as this would wear down the battery unnecessarily.

BUT, this is a ups.
The batteries will only be used if the power goes out for any extended period.
Hopefully never.
Maybe a few times over the lifetime of the batteries.
Is this a case where deliberately cycling may be beneficial?

No. You will simply hasten their demise. You've probably noticed they wear out every 3 years. You'll likely shorten that interval.
