Rehinging Renogy 100w Portable Suitcase panels?

I don't have this kit yet but I've been trolling for a less expensive portable 100w options and this seems adequate. One complaint I've read is that the panels fold with the glass side out - leading to worries about damage. Therefore I was wondering if it were a feasible project to swap/rehinge the panels so they fold glass to glass. I'd add some rubber bumpers or felt etc to further protect the surfaces when folded.

Thoughts from people that have the 100w Renogy kit - or know about them?

Thanks
Mark

When in stock, these Lion Energy panels are what I use. I have 9 of them.

On any portable panel, Glass should fold out. This keeps something from getting stuck between the glass when folded and latched. Glass out allows the cables to get stored on the inside. Whatever this glasis mode of is pretty stout.

You could put a hinge in like you wanted to change it. Just drill rivets out and turn it around and do it again. My hinges broke when the panel blew away with the wind and I reinstalled the rivets in the panel and the hinge and it did worked fine.
