School is in session Docan Fan Boys:
I was probably one of the very first DOCAN users on this forum ...
I joined this forum when it was literally the WILD WEST out there in LiFePO4 land. Holy cow think about how hard it was to find both a good battery and a good company and how time consuming it was .... all of us was testing every manufacturer, shipper, maker battery and I personally spent DAYs on the phone talking to the Chinese on the other end who themselves knew very little about what they were making or selling -- sure the engineers did - but getting to talk to an engineer was unheard of ...
Go back 2-3 years on this forum and just look at the type of dealers and batteries we were dealing with. EVERY Chinese "shipper" suddenly realized that there was an American market that was hungry for LiFePO4 and suddenly these "shippers" (some of them turned out to be tire or muffler manufacturers) were literally getting every rejected battery they could from the EV makers - wiping it off - and selling it as "Super Dooper GRADE-A #1" to anyone that would buy it.
I look back at some of the original batteries I had purchased for our oil company and still shake my head that these didn't either explode, cause a fire, or lasted more than 6 months....
Also us Americans didn't help when we started all this GRADE A and GRADE B and GRADE C crap... for the automotive industry and the battery makers there is simply no such code ... in China its simply good enough for the EV maker -- or not .... The batteries rejected by the EV maker often has nothing to due with the internal performance but how quirky or pissed off the inspector is that day ...
anyway - I digress...
After 1000's of DOCAN battery purchases I will say that I still have had zero issues with any of them ... YES sometimes there are delays but hell, its the same delays that every company faces sending billions of products in 10,000's of cargo containers on 100's of ships all going through a mismanaged and corrupt US PORT in CA - and then getting it pushed through Customs - and then loaded on FTL trucks to get to Houston ... a process that DOCAN has zero control over ...
BUT with that said - DOCAN has ALWAYS made right any issues that has came up (which in my case was only one battery in over a 1000 over the years)... Most of us know that AMY never sleeps and responds quickly to your questions (literally within minutes - 24/7) ... and trust me -- I love all of you (well most) -- but some of you have asked some of the most confusing (ie WTF!!??) questions they have ever seen and then get upset when you don't get the answers you need.
Anyway - DOCAN is still my go-to company ... I work in the oil patches in South Texas and YES they may not be the cheapest (but damn close) - but I will take reliability and customer service over saving a couple of $$$'s any day ...
And YES -- even though I am Chinese/American -- I still often - as most Chinese - still have no idea why certain companies do what they do - like re-lasering, or removing perfectly good UPC codes or this or that .... someone higher up the chain said to do it - no one questions it - and its done ...
And as for the trolling that
@Alkaline seems to be doing - if you would like me to send you over a few 1000 examples how American companies and US GOVT has misled, or given false advertising, or simply made things up to get something onto market or approved by the FDA let me know - I will be happy to send that to you ... BUT with that said -- If YOU can find a better company, with better customer service, better prices, and better reliability let me know -- seriously
PS - I have ZERO / NADA affiliation with DOCAN or any battery manufacturers ... I don't get a single discount from DOCAN on anything .... and besides maybe a little shared DNA I have no ties to any body in that business ...... my job here is to find the best/most reliable/ and less expensive batteries I can for my boss ... PERIOD ....
TY
