Just wanted to pass along my experience with Signature Solar so other customers don’t make the same mistake I did. I hate complaining about stuff like this online, but I feel my treatment was so egregious it warrants it.
The short story is, don’t accept damaged shipments from Signature...
My apologies for not responding. I don’t have a lot of time to spend online.
Now that Mr. Ben is in the chat, is it still appropriate to air dirty laundry? I’m trying to give them every chance to make this right. As of today, I still have no resolution.
Due to financial constraints, ordered a...
Lots of judgement passing here, maybe you didn’t read the beginning of the thread.
When a customer spends 10’s of thousands of dollars at your business, and has shipping damages on an item, and you give them the run around to replace it, that’s a problem. I’m convinced it was only addressed...
I definitely was not trying to take advantage. Far from it. I thought this would save them shipping the thing back to Texas, and show a gesture of good will for the inconvenience of this situation so far. It is strapped to the pallet and ready to go back if that offer wasn’t agreeable to SS. I...
I’m waiting for a reply from them. I just don’t understand how it could run fine for months and one day just die like this. This inverter was replaced once already under warranty when it fried itself. Super frustrating.
Had an F08 code on inverter two in my parallel off grid system. Reset the system a few times, and it would go away for a few hours, but come back. Now the inverter won’t power up at all. I’m guessing it’s fried. There is no grid power in this system. Not sure where to start.
Just wanted to update this thread with a work around that seems to have cured my problem in case anyone has this issue later.
My slave inverter was having F08 codes during partly cloudy days, as well as dropping offline. I noticed this really only happened during battery charging, and when the...
Is there a way to increase the charge rate, but still use the bms? It’s super slow. If I go back to manually setting rates again, what is a good charge amp setting? This is an off grid system, no a/c input to the inverters.
I appreciate this Ben. You seem very sincere about this issue.
On a side note, would you consider selling me this damaged battery at a discount if it does still work? I wouldn’t want to use it in my house, but I have a small shed I would like to use it in. Of course, I would need the new...
Reading other posts about the F08 fault it looks like it might be a battery buss issue? I measured voltage there and have 55.5 volts. I’m using the 6 lifepower4 batteries. I’m thinking this may be the case as now I cannot get the batteries to come online. They go through the self test and I hear...
I have a parallel system with two eg4 6500 inverters and a battery rack of 7 lifepower 4 batteries. This is an off grid system.
I Have been having charging issues with these inverters in bms mode and posted in another thread about it. I have since gone back to use/use and manual settings.
I...
Just to close the loop on this thread. My new/replacement battery arrived today from SS. It was in good shape and worked fine.
We were unable to come to a deal on the damaged battery, so that was sent back to SS.
Initial order (Which was the damaged battery) was placed on July 8th. It is now...
Jared,
Been thinking about it, and I’m just going to do the upgrade program. Going to try my luck with the 18 kpv model. I can’t trust these 6500s, they work for six months, then start giving me issues. Thank you for trying to help though.
Bummer, I guess I will go back to manual settings then. This thing is just not charging very well. Can you confirm these parameters please? This is what I got from sig solar about a year ago, just wanted to make sure they are still good.

What are people seeing for battery charge amps in their eg4 6500 inverters when in bms mode?
I have two inverters in parallel with 7 lifepower 4 batteries. I used to run a manual battery charging setting when I was having fault code 61 issues. In that setting I was running a 60a charging for...
I’m having an issue with my split phase eg4 set up. The slave inverter is back feeding amperage through the pv2 circuit when a load is supplied (water heater). It also will not charge the batteries above 25a. It’s also emitting a high pitch whine during loads.
See video for example. Thanks for...
I have a parallel system of 2 signature solar eg4 6500ex 48v inverters with a rack of 7 eg4 batteries.
I am now on my fourth Inverter, and once again, having issues. This time I am having a F08 code on the slave inverter. This will shut the system down automatically. This almost always happens...
