Hooking up a power supply to MPPT solar charger’s PV input

Not my manual. I posted the entirety of the warning above and it says nothing about reverse polarity.

Hooking up a power supply to MPPT solar charger’s PV input

I am considering doing this but I am hesitant because I read this on the spec sheet of my 75/10: Max. PV short circuit current 2): 13 A When you go to the bottom of the page to read Note 2), it says: 2) A PV array with a higher short circuit current may damage the controller. Is that...

Need electrician in Tampa Florida area for DIY solar permit.

I thought the same thing when my friend was going through the permitting process. After talking with the structural engineer, I had to agree the rules are there for valid reasons. In this case Florida is a hurricane target. It is also very common for severe thunderstorms to roll through almost...

He did not hire an electrician. We installed and wired all of the components ourselves.

If the permit application requires a licensed contractor to be named that has been added since we installed his. We did all of his electrical work.

I have read every post in this thread. My sincere best wishes to the OP and his family. That is a horrible experience. House burned down

To be fair almost all melted / burnt fuse holders are caused from poor connections, not from faulty fuses. There's a huge difference.

Inflation Reduction Act may be Unconstitutional - Take your Credits ASAP

This is one of the most disappointing aspects of life in America today. Unreal that a country with over 1/3 of a BILLION in population cannot offer up better candidates than the ones we see, year after year after year...

For 48V systems (which can achieve 56V) where do you folks source things like breakers?

I don't know if this will help or hurt but here is an as-built diagram for the system I have installed in my RV. Note that there are only 3 panels installed on the RV - the other 3 panels are ground-deployed when needed:

For 48V systems (which can achieve 56V) where do you folks source things like breakers?

I am not a fan of breakers on the battery side of the system. A properly sized fuse and a battery switch is a more reliable solution, IMHO. Victron sells 275 amp battery switches for about $35 - put one on each battery feed in place of the 58V 200 amp breaker in your diagram. If you need to take...

Need electrician in Tampa Florida area for DIY solar permit.

My buddy lives in Tampa. Two years ago I helped him install 36 panels, an 8K Sol-Ark, etc. He used this company to do all of the panel / roof / wind calculations. They provided a permitting package which had cut sheets, a CAD drawing, power calculations, etc. The "inspector" came out after we...

    Apexium Battery Box Assembly

I'm happy to report that I contacted the vendor and they shipped a replacement panel to me via FedEx. Even though it came from Hong Kong it arrived in only 5 days. I'm pretty happy with that.

Your solar panels will wire into a MPPT controller. The MPPT output is typically wired into the battery bank via a bus bar. The Multiplus-II is typically wired into the battery bank via the same bus bar. Where are you putting the battery breaker?
