I was thinking the Mojave would be good for that.. but either set-up requires some heavy conductors to bring all that PV current.
  • Post in thread: SolarEdge commissioning without net metering meter?

Most of the electric meters measure the current whether going or coming into the grid. When I was commissioning my unit (8 yes ago) it was charging me for the power I was sending to the grid. Don't be paying the company to accept your power.
  • Post in thread: Anyone have a wiring diagram for an Enphase system I can modify for my power company?

I drew mine up using a .pdf file, but. It was the pro version- not worth it if you have to buy the program. Worst case is to print out something that is close, then use white out or taped paper covering the part that yours is different; then pen and ink the changes ( you might even initial/date...

Oh yes , enphase has .pdf files on their website technical sections.
  • Post in thread: Enphase Microinverter System Damaged When Connected to Grid

Was the installer a big name company based out of Sanford?
  • Post in thread: Help with Pvc to emt transition for DC PV wires entering dwelling

Is it is deep enough (24 or 36" trench) with required bend to the vertical location?
  • Post in thread: Battery Storage with Micro Inverter System

I thought the whole home backup inserted the Enphase controller contacts between the grid meter input and the main panel input breaker; and with that assumption, why would there be a need to do an MPU if your panel was older, but perfectly serviceable?
  • Post in thread: Enphase IQ8-planning a system

Well, Did you ever get your system? Project Solar has good DIY price(s) for systems (IMHO.) I am getting a full system with batteries and from an authorized installer..($$$) but I know full well that I can "plug in" a separate, battery powered inverter output into the Generator input as a...

    Any updates?
  • Post in thread: Battery Storage with Micro Inverter System

A year later .. I was told that due to the Enphase Control panel connecting to the meter, IT was now classified as the "main panel" and my current home main panel would then be a subpanel to the Enphase box. They had to get a separate permit for the "main panel" work and one for the solar...
  • Post in thread: Just picked up 36 285W STP285 from Santan Solar for $70 ea

I have some older panels that are heavier than the "regulars". I noticed that the glass was thicker and they were rated at higher impact resistance. That was the difference. As the mfr was close to bankruptcy, they started using thinner glass later. They kept the same model # though.
  • Post in thread: Battery Storage with Micro Inverter System

Thank you. Is this 50A limit a maximum AC (source) limit? Is this the amount of AC bkr from Enphase to the load panel? My Enphase installer just told me I needed to do a MPU and i do not know why ( awaiting tech response now.) Between his first visit and the last visit, I had a inverter start...
  • Post in thread: Schneider XW6848+ Cleanup

For what it is worth: 1) heat sink paste ( on cpus & almost all power elex heat sinks) do dry out after many years. 2) on an outback Radian, I was getting very high Temps ( xfmr and thyristors). Found one of the 2 fans had failed. The second fan was rubbing and about to fail. Replaced both and...
  • Post in thread: Battery Storage with Micro Inverter System

Ok, I just read the Enphase line..the output of the battery backup inverters must be enough power the largest breaker - the Enphase controller is max'ed out at 50A. So, it looks like I will replace my 60A breaker with a 30A breaker
  • Post in thread: Can I use an All-In-One Solar Power System to supplement my energy supply?

Did anyone think to mention that most utilities measure current if it travels either direction? In other words, IF your solar produces more power at any time than you are using, that power can be fed back into the power grid. At that time, the meter measures it, this charging you the same as if...
