Protran 50 Amp transfer panel overrated by Reliance Controls?

I totally agree with you I love The Circuit by Circuit control even though mine is over 10 years old it still looks fantastic. The finished install with the added late model cover looks as good or better than the current ones. Hard to beat the Innovative design that they have controlling each...

Protran 50 Amp transfer panel overrated by Reliance Controls?

I totally agree with you I do like the circuit by circuit control as well, it is a very Innovative design. Although mine is over 10 years old and just being installed I knew when I bought it years ago it was going to be a great thing.

Protran 50 Amp transfer panel overrated by Reliance Controls?

The 240 volt 30 amp breaker uses 10 gauge the 240 volt 20 amp breaker used 12 gauge the 120 volt 15 amp Breakers were also 12 gauge but on the box it did specify those could be replaced with 20 amp 120 v Breakers I would assume their other panels are designed the same way

My SMA system install so far and precharge questions

You have a very gorgeous installation, I like how you're using Sma's and Sunny boys.

Upgraded 50 amp Generator transfer panel installed

Now everything was wired, I reinstalled the covers and then tested the system. It works great and I'm very happy with the results. I'm so glad I decided to flush mount it. Now the utility room breaker box and transfer panel system are 95% complete. The last part is I need to run a 60 amp feed...

Upgraded 50 amp Generator transfer panel installed

Now that the panels were mounted correctly and I was happy with the result. I went ahead and pulled the feeds (6 awg for L1, L2, and nuetral, 8 awg for grd) from the inverter bus block to the Gen panel. I wired those first and then I tackled the breakers. The breaker part was really time...

Upgraded 50 amp Generator transfer panel installed

After a little work on the Conduit I was then ready to test fit the panel. I got the unit mounted in the wall and reinstalled the breaker cover. I wanted to make sure I had the two of them mounted straight together. At first I just bundled the wiring up inside the breaker box and put the lid on...

Upgraded 50 amp Generator transfer panel installed

Now that I had the flush mount kit and the lid fitting correctly it was time to make a hole in the wall. This is the scary part... I took a lot of measurements and did a lot of looking with the breaker box lid removed. I finally decided on the best location. Then I got out my trusty sheetrock...

Upgraded 50 amp Generator transfer panel installed

Finally got to install my 50 Amp ProTran transfer panel yesterday. I had previously replaced some of the internals to carry more amps safely. As I plan on using it continuously and rather than it being a generator transfer switch, it will transfer 10 circuirts between the Fronius grid tie...

Correct pv input wiring for Victron Rs450/200

Thank you great information, I would not have thought of that on the bus blocks, so do you think it makes a difference if the wire is tinned or not meaning would tinned wire be okay for the pv inputs vs bare? Where would I get ferrules for 10 awg ? The wire I was looking at was bare but I did...

Correct pv input wiring for Victron Rs450/200

I'm on the final stages of wiring in the power room. Wiring up the charge controller is one of a few last things. I plan on coming from the outside PV disconnect into the power room using 10 thhn. I'm going to build a bus box with 8 bus blocks to bring in the four arrays.(leftovers from various...

Protran 50 Amp transfer panel overrated by Reliance Controls?

I have to agree with what you were saying so I did reword the first paragraph of my thread.

Protran 50 Amp transfer panel overrated by Reliance Controls?

Yes if you do the math for what the gauge wire can carry it should be okay for 50 amps total. And for most people Straight Out of the Box used as temporary power it would be fine. However I will run my air conditioner 3.5 tons, a one hp well pump, refrigerator, radiant heaters and more all at...

Protran 50 Amp transfer panel overrated by Reliance Controls?

Sounds like the newer version of the one I have, they no longer offer the digital amp meter I guess it had issues if they were ran in the heat.

Protran 50 Amp transfer panel overrated by Reliance Controls?

I did notice on top of the unit as I was finishing it and labeling it was already rated for the 120s to have 15 or 20 amp Breakers. Honestly as much as these cost you think it would have had at least an 8 or 6 gauge Main. Two 30 amp 240 Breakers and the 120 breakers all 20 amps. The last pic...
