Has anyone used a 100 Balance BMS from Dongguan Balanced Management Technology Co. Ltd?

I have 100A version for a month already. One day, I felt a strange smell from the battery. When I opened it the BMS was 60C and melted the nearest insulation. In the beginning, it never exceeds 30C. I reached their customer support. They tried to update the software and this damn thing heated up...

Two electric unicycles + 140kWh of dead cells + Solar panels (Bayliner hybrid)

Yep, you're right but when you are going higher in voltage you have less heat. Again I still have an idea just to put there two Tesla drive units XD I will do the trials on the 2.5kW electric motor that is already installed on the drive shaft and will decide what way I should go. Tesla or QS motor

Two electric unicycles + 140kWh of dead cells + Solar panels (Bayliner hybrid)

So yeah here is the update! It is running! So the trials are going to start pretty soon. I need a couple of weeks more to finish the battery bank. For tests, I'm assembling a 24S18P 21700 Li-ion bank. Check out the video at 10% of the power P.S. Does anybody know how to remove the 25% power...

Two electric unicycles + 140kWh of dead cells + Solar panels (Bayliner hybrid)

Sorry that I disappeared again for quite a while. Yep I spoke to them. The problem is that they use 48V or 72V motors. This voltage is too low to build a power-efficient system. This is why Tesla now moved to 800V DC. Plus they didn't release this product to the public yet. And they don't really...

Can Lithium batteries support an AGM installation for Solar Powered Catamaran

Oh yeah, all power boats left the chat XDDDD

    100.8 LiIon BMS for free

Hi guys, I have some BMS in stock from InMotion V12 Electric Unicycle. They all have some sort of damage so I don't think you would be able to use them but there are a lot of parts on them that still look ok. Let me know if you want them and I will give it to you for free. I have now 3 on hand...

Can Lithium batteries support an AGM installation for Solar Powered Catamaran

Hi, you can check my topic where I am going with the same 96V (100.8 in my case) dilemma. I think I found a nice solution on how to use cheap 48V components and how to combine two battery banks together. I did my scheme based on Leaf modules but you can modify this way almost any battery...

Two electric unicycles + 140kWh of dead cells + Solar panels (Bayliner hybrid)

I was thinking of disconnecting the load at all as soon as one of the batteries goes Into over-discharge protection. Because if there is one of the batteries triggers this protection it means all others will trigger it soon. It means that the battery is drained and I had to turn on the generator...

Two electric unicycles + 140kWh of dead cells + Solar panels (Bayliner hybrid)

This is exactly why I want to test it out. There is no data on who would ever try to do it. I don't know about GM, Ford, and others but I studied how Tesla builds their batteries. I've had an internship there and they use the same ideology. They have groups of cells connected in parallel after...

Two electric unicycles + 140kWh of dead cells + Solar panels (Bayliner hybrid)

Can you tell me more about using the diode to protect the BMS? I do not really get an idea of how it is possible. And yeah the trick with three inverters is pretty smart. I will think about it if I will go 230V or more but for now, I’m going to stay at 100.8V)

Two electric unicycles + 140kWh of dead cells + Solar panels (Bayliner hybrid)

Nobody wants to tell you crazy. But in your story, it was your mistake and the person who left the exposed terminals. It is the same if I put my fingers into the 120V socket, get an electrocution, and tell everyone how dangerous it is. I respect your experience and would really appreciate it if...

Two electric unicycles + 140kWh of dead cells + Solar panels (Bayliner hybrid)

You should check their website https://www.qsmotor.com/ I know at least a couple of motors with your requirements. And this is exactly why I am going with my motor from EUC (Electric Unicycle) because they have relatively low RPM (800-900 RPM max) and a lot of torque. The motor I have should...

Thanks for your kind words. More to come soon. Silent 60 is amazing but to unreal for us now. But we will see that will be in the future. Technoloy is already here so it is time to do something cool with it)

Two electric unicycles + 140kWh of dead cells + Solar panels (Bayliner hybrid)

Life is a dangerous thing. If you want to achieve something big - you should go out of your comfort zone. And use technology to make everything safe Edit: P.S. I already have 130V DC from my solar panels and will have more than 200V when I finish my setup ;)

Two electric unicycles + 140kWh of dead cells + Solar panels (Bayliner hybrid)

The thing is that for 48V 4kW is the maximum motor size powervise that you can install. In my case, I’m using this motor just because I already have it and it will help to do all the tests and collect enough data. The thing is that I don’t know anyone who would retrofit the power yacht of this...
